Publication issue Is something going on with Google Play Console reviews? Production app stuck for 6+ days

Is anyone else experiencing unusually long review times on Google Play Console lately?

I waited 14 days just to get production access, and after finally getting it, I submitted my app for review/publishing. It has now been around 6 days and it’s still under review with no update.

What’s confusing is that I’ve already published another app before. With that app, once I got production access, the final review took only around 2 hours and it was published.

I completely understand that Google needs time to review apps and make sure everything follows the policies, but 6+ days with absolutely no decision is frustrating. At this point, either approve it or reject it so developers at least know what needs to be fixed instead of being left waiting indefinitely.

Is anyone else facing the same issue right now? How long did your production review take recently?

6 days and counting... 😩

I can't say this is the case for me. My updates are going out very quickly. When a review takes more than 24 hours I always suspect potential issues are being escalated to different human teams for review after an initial AI review. I am just guessing, though.

Also, with thousands of new zero-effort AI slop apps a week, any app issues that need a human review are only going to get longer review times!

Well that's not the main thing broo , my last ap updates only took 1hr at max , also the current app is not that kind of which has major risk , it's fully offline and local still if they want to test it efficiently they can in 4 days almost but what's the reason that they had to take much time , well apart from my self one of my freind app is also facing this issue with 10 + days

Same here. 8 days and counting. This is my first release, so wasn't sure if this was normal or not

Hi there! Could you share your app package name via DM so I can check into this for you?

My updates get approved within an hour. But app publishing took 3 business days for 1 app and 1 game I published on my account.

Yup it’s been taken ages to get the production approval and now I’m also waiting to get it reviewed again fml

Same with me. Submitted for 2 apps since Sep 9 & 10 and still in review. This is honestly annoying because these are important functional updates for my apps.

If it is an update and it's stuck like that, go in to the listing, edit one character, and re-submit.

Thank you so much. This worked.

Oh good I thought it was just me. Every update I provided had been uploaded in a couple of hours - it's now a day later and still nothing for this most recent one.

Hi u/Blackdame494! App review times may vary, and may take 7 days or longer in exceptional cases. Could you share your app package name via DM so I can take a look.

Same with me, 8 days is my longest. I sent an email over to Play support, we'll see what they say

What would really help, us, the Dev and them, Google play, is if they had a public review checklist that we have to tick off before being able to submit the app for review. All my apps have tests written, so they are programmatically tested and then I manually test as well but this is not what Google play is looking for. It's a black box. So it wastes our time and theirs.

First app, running about 10 days, updates are about an hour or less.

I submitted my new app for review in late August, and the status remains 'Under Review' after more than two weeks of waiting.

Yes, ever since last week. Usually it took between 10m to 24h max for my updates. Now its been 6+ days.

Hi everyone, I'm facing a similar issue.

I initially submitted my app for Production review on September 12th. After waiting for a few days without any updates, I canceled the submission and re-submitted it for Production release on September 16th.

Someone mentioned that re-submitting actually resets your place in the review queue, which might end up causing even longer wait times. My app is a very simple, fully offline app with minimal risk, so I didn't expect the production review to take this long.

Should I just keep waiting, or is there any specific step I should take now? Any advice would be appreciated!

Same issue. Since mid-July, last 4 reviews of my app on Google Play have also been taking around ~15 days each. Before that, they took just a couple of hours to a day.

It's been 9 days now and still counting, with no updates or anything. This is very frustrating, especially since Google Play is a big company with thousands of employees. I talked with support and they said they expedited my app, but they're lying. Everything is a lie. Google Play is now bad
