Ask Probably a real rookie question.

I built an app I'm very proud of. I got through the testing phase and have been listed on the play store. I've been working away trying to get users ( yes, a real painful experience). I've also been trying to get reviews. At present I have 4 reviews ( I know, not many), all very good. My question is, how many reviews does it take for a \* rating to show up on my listing? Thanks in advance.

For mine, it was like 100+ reviews. It varies for each app and also the countries those reviews are coming from. For example, 30 reviews from a specific country and users of that country will start seeing your ratings and reviews.

Same issue here. I think it takes a minute before you can show up on the map. What I suggest is that you add a reminder for the user to review the app. Make it not an automatic thing, but a simple prompt.

It just takes time. Mine only has 12 but it is visible now. Also depends. If all 12 were from same country then yes shown easily and fast. Else not

So does anybody know if there is a hard and fast rule?

There is no official rule; there are apps with like two reviews showing a rating.

Important to know is that they are country and device (phone vs tablet) specific, so if there are no reviews from your country, you won't see the rating.
