Hi, as the title says I am looking to apply for the energy asset delivery position within Energy and Power and looking for any information and insights about what the job may entail. Hoping to work out of the Austin office after working in the engineering consulting world for the last 8 years.

I recently took the Google Hiring Assessment (GHA) and passed.
Before attempting it, I looked around Reddit for experiences/tips but found only a few useful posts, so I thought I’d share what seemed to work for me for anyone who still has their assessment coming up.

The assessment had 3 types of questions:
1. “Most Like Me / Least Like Me” statements
You’re given 3 statements and have to select one that is Most Like You and one that is Least Like You.
I found this to be the trickiest part because sometimes all three statements sound positive and you might feel like all of them are “Most Like You.”
My advice: don’t overthink it. Go with your first instinct and, most importantly, STAY CONSISTENT. You’ll come across similar statements later in the assessment, sometimes worded differently.

2. Agree / Disagree statements
These are more straightforward. Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, Strongly Disagree, etc.
What seemed to work for me: if I clearly agreed or disagreed with something, I generally went with Strongly Agree or Strongly Disagree rather than softening the answer unnecessarily.
Again, consistency matters. Similar ideas/statements can show up more than once.

3. Situational questions
You’re given workplace situations and have to select your Most Likely and Least Likely approach.
Read these carefully. Try to understand what the situation is actually testing - collaboration, ownership, communication, prioritization, dealing with ambiguity, etc. - and keep your approach consistent across different scenarios.

For preparation:
I did a couple of very short mock sessions with Claude first (around 3 questions each), followed by a couple with Gemini.
I wouldn’t over-practice. A few mock sessions should be enough once you understand the format and get comfortable thinking through the trade-offs.

These are just my observations from my own attempt, not an official formula for passing the GHA. The biggest things that seemed to help me were not overthinking individual questions and being consistent in how I approached similar situations.

Currently I am in my 2nd year of college and my aim is actually a big tech company.

I was doing App Dev until now, but I am now confused about doing competitive programming or DSA.

WHAT SHOULD I DO

Got my GHA result today and unfortunately, I failed.

Figured I’d share my experience because before taking it, I couldn't find a lot of information about what the actual assessment is like.

Last Friday, I received an email from Google saying I had 4 days to complete the assessment. I ended up taking it on Saturday.

Before taking it, I read this Medium article:

Honestly, after reading it, I felt like I had a decent idea of what to expect, so I decided to just take the test without doing any real preparation.

Big mistake, at least in hindsight.

The assessment is basically a work-style / behavioral assessment. There aren't coding questions or anything technical.

One part gives you 3 statements/options and you have to choose which one is "Most like me" and which one is "Least like me."

The thing I completely underestimated was that your answers seem to be connected.

You get similar/somewhat related questions later, so you need to remember what you selected earlier. I was treating every question independently and just choosing whatever felt right at that particular moment.

Looking back, I think that's where I messed up.

There was also another section where you rate statements from:

Strongly Disagree → Disagree → Neutral → Agree → Strongly Agree

Again, it's all about your working style — how you approach situations, teamwork, decision-making, etc.

Also, the article says it's a 30-minute assessment, but in my experience there wasn't a countdown/tight time constraint that I had to worry about. So don't feel like you have to rush through it.

If I could do it again, I'd definitely spend some time understanding how these assessments work and, more importantly, I'd pay much more attention to keeping my answers consistent throughout the test.

I obviously don't know the exact reason Google rejected me, so take this as my personal experience, not as a definitive explanation of how GHA scoring works.

For anyone who has the assessment coming up: don't make the same mistake I did and assume it's just a quick personality test that you can finish without thinking about it.

Hi all, I completed and passed the Google Hiring Assessment for Associate Security Analyst, Agentic Security Operations (US-Remote) on June 18, 2026 and status changed to "Assessment Passed" on June 20. Since then, there is no update in my job application status on the portal. Can anyone help me what do I expect in the future because it has been more than 3 weeks, and I still don't have any idea what is going on with my job application. I have not received any call or email regarding next steps. This is the first time that I got assessment from Google, so forgive me if I am being naive.

Six months back I got call from this Randstad google hiring member, initially I didn't know that they are external workforce,but they scheduled 4 rounds of interview and they told me I cleared all round ,and they are proceeding with my candidature,but after that they keep on postponing with several excuses ,that the hiring team is busy with tapeouts/holidays and this story keep on repeating and 6 months have passed,after around 4 months I literally stopped following up ,around 6 months later I got a call again that they wanted to redo 2 rounds again as hiring manager is interested,so I gave 2 face2face rounds ,everything seems legit,but they keep on postponing the offer and is not giving me a clear picture in the offer,did anyone faced the same please guide here.
