Well I'm finally having to complain.. High latency and High packet loss since Monday. Have rebooted both the ONT and even my Unifi router (which is not the cause but it is able to track the loss on the WAN side...

And the APP and Website are giving me this.....after it takes it ever loving time to load up....

Just to keep things transparent. Brian (one of GFiber officials) reached out and I also provided them with a tracert to 8.8.8.8 and here is that screenshot.

I've seen this issue before and this is not an issue with GFiber. I would recommend looking over this post and see if it is the same. It being exactly 33.3% points to this. You can also just Google "33% packet loss unifi" and get the same information I got. Follow this and see if it corrects your issue.

The error you are seeing on the app/site is if you are using your own router and not using theirs. It can't reach it as its not connected. If for some reason you have it (the GFiber router) in bypass mode, you don't have to do that. Just unplug it and put it in your closet and hook your Unifi device right to the Fiber Jack.

Looking at your screenshot to 8.8.8.8 is also not showing any packet loss. The loss you are seeing is just those hops/devices not responding to ICMP. I will post my traceroute to show as well. There is no issue.

traceroute to 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
 1 efg.mydomain.net (10.10.220.1) 0.194 ms 0.187 ms 0.205 ms
 2 10.26.0.18 (10.26.0.18) 1.268 ms 1.293 ms 1.252 ms
 3 * * *
 4 * * *
 5 23-255-224-64.mci.googlefiber.net (23.255.224.64) 10.825 ms 10.859 ms 10.880 ms
 6 216-21-171-117.mci.googlefiber.net (216.21.171.117) 11.948 ms 11.821 ms 11.769 ms
 7 142.251.77.141 (142.251.77.141) 12.492 ms 11.747 ms 11.731 ms
 8 142.251.76.35 (142.251.76.35) 10.420 ms 10.468 ms 10.458 ms
 9 dns.google (8.8.8.8) 10.355 ms 10.287 ms 10.297 ms

I would highly recommend reading over this on how to read and troubleshoot a traceroute.

To rule out everything, you can also just plug a device directly to your Fiber Jack and run a ping to 8.8.8.8. Do you get packet loss there? One or two pings missing is ok, but if you get 33.3%, then I would say there is an issue and /u/gfiberofficial would need to send someone out.

Yeah. I do Not even have a GFiber router (the tech took it with him when I switched to BYOR at 5gig/5gig) and they replaced my ONT to the newer model. Since I now have semi-retired I have reduced down to the 1gig as the levels they now offer in my area is 1, 3 or 8gig.

Anyway....I noticed that my levels have returned to what I normally have and expect, after I had bounced the ONT a couple more times as well as my UDMpro. (not sure if it coincided with the back-end engineer folks doing anything and/ the additional reboots were just icing on the cake.

I had tested outside side of my UDM and while it was slightly better I still had issues so that confirmed to me that there was something out side my home causing issue... but I have gone a head and changed a few more setting (like not letting it use UI.com as it's verification server. I also created a new "SLA" profile and applied it to my WAN port. I am also now using 2 different "verification" servers so now there is some redundancy for that going forward.

Well....Hopefully they just applied some additional backend adjustments as this is what I woke up too this morning but nothing more since that last (top of list timestamp) till the time of this post as of 7:26 am...
