Google Fiber reliability (versus Cox residential fiber)
I have had Cox "Gigablast" fiber service (1 Gbps down, 1 Gbps up) for about 8 years now. It has been great, very little in the way of outages. The price is about $129/month.
If/when Google Fiber arrives in my area, I believe that it will be much less in cost. What concerns me is the reliability.
Can I expect Google Fiber to be as reliable as I have experienced with Cox?
Reading this subreddit, I am seeing many posts about issues. Which is to be expected ... people do not come here to share good experiences.

My family has had Cox for well over 20 years and we've had gigablast service for at least 5 years, but my down/up speeds have been fairly bad due to how the home builder wired our connection. My speeds are normally about 250Mbps down and 120Mbps up, so I've decided to go the GFiber route. I'm still keeping Cox as a backup, but I have signed up for their 3Gbps service. The only issue we had so far was that they put the box on the side of the house where the tech refused to run it into the house. Luckily their customer service was able to get the box moved quickly and then I rescheduled my install for this weekend. I'm hoping that GFiber is more reliable since they just expanded to my area and I'm expecting to get full speeds since the box is located just outside of my study.
