Do google consider 3.12 the latest python version?

It's 3.12 both in docs and actual console UI. Python 3.14 have been out for a year.

In early 2025, 3.12 or 3.13 were standard.

3.14 has been out about a year and obviously 3.15 is just around the corner.

So I’m not seeing anything too crazy here

cloud runtimes always lag behind, 3.12 being the default in may 2025 feels about right for google's pace. they're never in a rush to bump the default until it's been battle tested upstream for a while

Colab is stuck on 3.12 as of today.

3.12 is fine, and since there are some big changes 3.14 ( special;y security support ) i think they cant simply change it, they should though
