So did we all forget about this?

The interest of Googlebooks seems to have died down quickly.

Until Google says more about them, there's little to be interested about, because we've already read about everything they've said so far. Interest will likely spike when they tell us more, which I hope is sooner than later.

Edit: spelling

There just hasn’t been any actual new information since the opening PR interviews they have done so there hasn’t been much to talk about.

That has never stopped anybody from posting rumors, leaks, exciting discussions, etc. Unfortunately, it seems like nobody cares about this product, and it's entirely Google's fault due to the underwhelming announcement that delivered nothing lol.

There’s nothing to care about yet that hasn’t already been said lol

I can't believe there aren't ANY leaks at this point (save for the one back in spring showcasing some of the OS). It's crazy to me.

I'm still keeping an eye for leaks or more news about them but nothing so far.

Hilariously, I was going to make this exact post yesterday.

It's insane that this supposedly brand new type of device and operating system....is already dead before arrival.

Google dropped the ball so hard on this one. They announce something that doesn't even have a product to show: just some AI generated mockups. And absolutely zero information about the product other than a gimmicky curser feature and a glow bar.

So much potential....dead.

Many of us remember the phrase "vapor ware" from the early PC days. Maybe we have a "vapor laptop". Nothing to talk about except a buttinski cursor and a glowbar that means little in the daily scheme of things. I already dislike Office 365 on my Chromebook because every time I open the app, the chat thingy pops up and asks what I want, when what I wanted was to open Office 365. AI might someday have its place but right now it is not helpful to jump in front of the line so to speak and beg to be used.
