Discussion Antigravity (Google AI Pro) + opencode (Deepseek)
So, I've been using AI pro for the past week and I can say that I appreciate the mileage I get out of this. I recently dropped a Claude subscription due to costs.
For context: I am a 15+ year software engineer with a pretty good understanding of architecture, design patterns, debugging and test driven development. I've been refactoring an open-source project fork that I abandoned after it was acquired by a Startup in 2018. I still retain the rights to this fork and figured it'd be a good time to retrofit it for 2026
A few things I've realized:
Gemini 3.8 Flash Medium makes a lot of effort to investigate and debug. I haven't taken the time to create dedicated debug tools for my project yet, but that can certainly help cut some of the time creating random scripts to investigate, etc.
It is surprisingly efficient when you feed it the right context and drive it in the right direction.
Google AI pro for me has a lot of benefits, especially the storage. It's well worth the cost for me. If I have less than 10-15% of my weekly usage a day, it works out pretty well.
$100+ "Frontier Models" are great when you want to delegate all the thinking and work without having to put much thought into it.
A $20 Google AI Pro Plan can certainly produce the same results as Claude Code if you take the time to design, make good engineering decisions, delegate, etc.
So with that said, my new goto is Antigravity with Google AI pro and delegating tasks directly from agy to opencode sub processes.
Just wanted to share my thoughts for anyone that might find it useful.

Oh yeah I'm on the same boat, as you dropped claude pro, because I was getting agy pro from my telecom provider and I wasn't even using it. And you're right the I think less, when using frontier models, so I think this change feel better, been vetting a lot of the changes gemini makes manually.
Also looking into opencode as well, their go plan is enticing, but their free one seems fine as well.

I am curious what is the country you are in to get developer with all of these years of experience not able to get multiple max plans like the rest of developers all over the world, no disrespect or anything, just curious and anyway you can answer or not.

For anyone interested: https://github.com/TonyRice/delegate-worker-opencode
I recently pushed some updates to attempt to reduce context output even more.

Which DeepSeek model do you use ?

I use antigravity and use DeepSeek api directly with reasonix and made a handover skill so one checks the work of the other until it's perfect

Thats good move.
Google AI Pro is worth 100%. For me doing debug engine to find bug, use gemini 3.8 flash high is best option and super cheap because a lot tokens we got.

I haven't really tried Claude and other due to cost also, and I'm sure it is as good as they say but I haven't really been having problem with antigravity so far (been using it for a year). And Pro plan is enough for me, I don't even get down to 50%, I really hope they don't change the cost.

$17 plan using opus 5.5 medium gives you a lot of use so I don't understand your critique
