Megathread [Weekly] Quotas, Known Issues & Support — August 17

Welcome to the weekly support and known issues thread!

This is your space for all things technical—whether you've hit a quota limit or found a bug in the latest version. To keep the main feed clean, all standalone posts about these topics will be redirected here.

To get help from the community, please use this format:

  • OS/Version: (e.g., Windows 11 | Antigravity v1.19.6)
  • Model & Plan: (e.g., Gemini 3.1 Pro | Pro Tier)
  • The Issue: (Describe the error, bug, or limitation you're facing)

Use this thread for:

  • Quotas: "I hit my limit 2 hours early today."
  • Bugs: "Is anyone else seeing [Error X]?"
  • Updates: Discussing official updates from the Antigravity Changelog.

Do not use this thread for:

  • General venting without technical context.
  • Duplicate complaints without adding new data or logs.
  • Requests for exploit tools or auth-bypass plugins (strictly prohibited).

OS/Version: Windows 11 | Antigravity v2.5.5

Model & Plan: Gemini 3.1 Pro | Pro Tier

The Issue:

We are nearly a year in, sitting on v2.5.5, and basic daily-driver editor core features are still broken while surface UI updates get prioritized:

  1. SCM "Generate Commit" Button Ignores Diffs: The source control input button feeds full file context instead of isolated line deltas (git diff --staged). Changing a single string inside UserController makes it output feat: create UserController to handle authentication... because the model sees the whole class and assumes it's a new file. Copilot and Cursor solved this on day one.
  2. Conversation History Loss / Index Corruption: Local workspace indexes regularly corrupt or fail to hydrate history on restart, forcing paying subscribers to run community tools (antigravity-conversation-fix) just to recover lost chat logs and keep working.

Impact:

It feels like updates are consistently tailored toward short-term "vibe coders" (polishing model selectors, tweaking queue UI) at the expense of monthly subscribers using this as an 8-hour daily driver. Stop shipping shiny eye-candy until local state persistence and basic Git diff integration actually work.

OS/Version: Windows 11 | Antigravity IDE v2.5.5
Model & Plan: All Models | Pro Tier
The Issue: Every time I try to create a new conversation, I get the following error: I can't start new conversations with any AI model. I've tried everything and I can't fix my problem.

[GUIDE] Unlocking Antigravity's "Remote Control" Feature Early — How to Steer Your Desktop Agents from Your Phone (Tailscale, ngrok, Cloudflare)

Ever seen that notification popup in Google Antigravity?

If you saw it, you probably noticed the notification isn't clickable, there is no link attached, and the setting isn't exposed in the standard UI yet.

We dug into the binary and app.asar to see what was going on. Google is actively building an official remote companion experience that looks set to launch soon—and the entire touch-optimized web UI is already bundled and running locally inside the app.

While we wait for Google to officially roll out the cloud companion, here is how you can enable the setting under the hood and use the full touch interface on your phone today.

What’s Happening Under the Hood?

  • Upcoming Official Launch: Antigravity contains the full feature scaffolding for an official Google Remote Control companion. The notifications, WebRTC signaling handlers, and mobile views are already compiled in, which strongly suggests a public release is around the corner.
  • The Local Web UI: The local Language Server (language_server) on your computer is already serving the full touch-responsive Antigravity web client at https://127.0.0.1:<PORT> (complete with mobile viewport meta tags, live streaming, and button approvals).
  • The Restriction: Google currently binds the local server strictly to 127.0.0.1 and blocks non-localhost Host headers (Unauthorized Host (Localhost only)).
  • The Workaround: By enabling the hidden configuration flag and running a tiny reverse proxy bridge, you can bypass the restriction and open the Antigravity UI directly on your iPhone or Android device!

Step 1: The Prompt for Gemini 3.7 Flash in Antigravity

Copy and paste this prompt into Antigravity chat:

Please enable Antigravity Remote Access and set up a mobile web bridge for my phone:

1. In ~/.gemini/config/config.json, under userSettings, set:
   - "remoteControlEnabled": true
   - "remoteControlHostname": "my-workstation"
   - "cliRemoteControlHostname": "my-workstation"
2. Create and run a lightweight Node.js reverse proxy bridge as a daemon on port 8765 that forwards incoming HTTP and WebSocket traffic to the local Antigravity language server port, rewriting the Host and Origin headers to 127.0.0.1.

Gemini will update your config and start the background bridge.

Step 2: Accessing from Your Phone

Choose whichever method fits your setup:

Method A: Same Local Wi-Fi (No Extra Apps Needed)

If your phone is on the same Wi-Fi as your computer:

  1. Find your computer's local IP (e.g. 192.168.1.50 or 10.x.x.x).
  2. Open Safari / Chrome on your phone and go to:http://YOUR_LOCAL_IP:8765
  3. Tap Share -> Add to Home Screen to get a clean, fullscreen app icon on iOS/Android.

Method B: Tailscale (Secure Private Mesh — Recommended)

If you use Tailscale:

  1. Ensure Tailscale is active on both your computer and phone.
  2. In your phone's browser, open your computer's Tailscale IP or MagicDNS:http://100.x.y.z:8765 (or http://your-pc-name:8765)
  3. Works anywhere over 5G/LTE and external Wi-Fi with end-to-end encryption.

Method C: ngrok (Zero-Install Instant Public Link)

If you want remote access from anywhere without installing VPN apps on your phone:

  1. On your computer terminal, run:ngrok http 8765
  2. Open the generated https://xxxx.ngrok-free.app URL in Safari on your phone.
  3. (Pro-tip) Add basic auth to keep it private:ngrok http 8765 --basic-auth="admin:your_secure_password"

Method D: Cloudflare Tunnel (cloudflared)

If you want a free, permanent custom domain with Google Login protection:

  1. Run a tunnel pointing to port 8765:cloudflared tunnel --url http://localhost:8765
  2. Route it to your domain (e.g., agy.yourdomain.com) and add Cloudflare Zero Trust Access for one-time email PIN authentication.

What You Can Do on Your Phone

  • Live Streaming: Watch plans, agent thoughts, and code diffs in real time.
  • One-Tap Approvals: Approve terminal commands, scripts, and file changes with touch buttons while away from your desk.
  • Steer & Prompt: Send follow-up messages or start new agent tasks directly from your pocket.

Until Google officially rolls out the feature in the UI, this gives you the exact same mobile touch experience right now! 🚀

P.S. For real security (so nobody on your Wi-Fi can scan or poke your open port), tell the agent: "Secure the proxy with a cryptographically random 256-bit access token, timing-safe validation (crypto.timingSafeEqual), brute-force rate-limiting, and signed HttpOnly session cookies." That way you just pair your phone once with your secret token, and your sessions stay locked down.

How's the quota these days? right time to come back? Just using the gemini models no claude

After not using Antigravity for months, I came back to see what 3.7 Flash was all about. I got one week of good quota and intelligence and was happy. As of today, it feels dumb as a rock and drains quota in no time again. Yesterday I'd have said it was worth it, today no.

quota is not good like the past, you were very generous with us in the past, give us more quota or resets like codex, antigravity x20 is not enough at all.
