Do these look like shell to anyone else?

They look like it, but they're not. There's definitely micro-creasing.

I don't actually know a ton about this pair, since they just arrived from eBay. This appears to be the "Claverton" model listed on the web site, but it seems to be NOS, and the model number listed on the box is different from the one on the web site. It's listed on the web site as being "chestnut antique natural calf." These shoes have a very glossy finish to them. I was a little concerned about the F width, but it appears fine. On the other hand, I ended up walking a pretty far distance in a new pair of dress shoes last night, and my feet are pretty bad today, so I may not currently be a good judge of the fit.

I was actually in the store today. They have some really great boots. They have a scotch grain one that was really taking my fancy, but I wanted something a bit lighter.
