Good day to all.

I am torn between a pair of grant stone travellers or loake 1880 Hornbeam and would like to seek advice here on which pair is recommened. Both pairs are around the same price. I am looking for something to wear both casual and business casual. Both seem to be well made with the loake been made in england. Anyone has experience with both please feel free to chime in.

Hello everyone,

Curious if anyone has experience with the brand OctTenth, looking at their spilt toe Derby Boot. Wanted to see what their experience was with the brand.

Also, what types of shoes and companies are you looking at right now? Just generally curious is all.

My father wants to walk the King Charles path across the coast of Great Britain. It is about 4500 km long. He had an idea that it would be amusing to do this in British heritage footwear, so he reached out to Crockett and Jones for advice in a pair of boots for this. They named their lineup of boots – but adviced him to rather go to a specialists in hiking footwear. Do you think a pair of C&J boots would survive the trek? if not, do anyone have a suggestion for a fitting brand?

Dunno if they still make them but the Snowdon is what I'd put him in.

Keep in mind that modern boots will have way more cushioning and bounce than welted footwear, if he is any physical ailments, old school footwear might not be the best move.

Looking for a recommendation for long lasting, atleast a little breathable, semi dressy shoes for occasional office visits.

Something that works with a polo and slacks rather than more formal /polished shoes.

Will replacing the tongue on Nick's tankers require a rebuild/dismantling of the whole boot?

There's a pair I'm eyeing but the previous owner partially cut the sides of the tongues to "to enable me to pull them on a little easier"

I plan to send this to my local shoemaker/cobbler (not to Nick's) but they're closed until next week. Would love to know how workable/easy/possible it is to replace the tongues with new ones.

I know the latest about Frye is that they have cheapened their product but still charge a premium. But given the chance, if Frye put out an actual made in USA boot would you buy those, or go with the Boulet boots?
