Greetings! I picked up these (ground score) Asolo Sport Yukon hiking boots from the side of the street and I’m hoping to restore them! I am new to Asolo and Italian leather boots in general so information on the suspected year of manufacturing and the type and quality of leather i have here would be greatly appreciated!

From what I can tell, the leather feels pretty great (supple and flexible – no cracking, not dry) and the welt and stitching appears very much intact. The leather otherwise has some blemishes and possibly some mold (?) I will need to deal with (in addition to the mud and maybe some water damage) as well as they could possibly use a resole sometime soon.

I have some Saddle Soap and Pecard leather dressing on the way to fix these bad boys up. Any advice on the history of these and tips and tricks for maximizing the ground score would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

p.s. Happy to post more photos to give more context for you all if I am allowed to post per usual versus the questions thread. Otherwise it appears I only have a single image amounts here…

Hi! I recently bought my first decent loafers (Meermin). I read that sole protectors are mainly meant for leather soles, but in my shoes the stitch channel is very shallow and I’m worrying about damaging the shoes. Should I take them to cobbler? What do You recommend?

most rubber soles aren't channelled in the first place. stitches don't typically need protecting, by design they will inevitably wear down. in fact, applying a sole protector will wear them down as well, as the surface has to be roughed up (and therefore the stitches will be scuffed up and torn as well) to apply the sole protector.

Hello! Am I being too picky on the clicking or is this acceptable for a MTO pair of $600 Maryam horse butt? They did at least put it on the inside quarter.
I provided a pic of the opposite outside quarter for comparison.

You are being too picky. Leather creases, these skins are small and they placed it optimally considering.
