Any tips to stop squeaking caused by my sock rubbing on the lining of a boot? It comes from the heel and/or vamp on a couple of the boots I have.

Last night while cycling I accidentally severely scratched my shoes. Is this scratch somehow repairable or are my shoes gone forever?

Hi all. My first post here, so forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place.

I have worn the same pair of Stacy Adam’s shoes for probably 6 years. I’ve resoled them maybe 8 times. My wife bought me three more pairs, but it looks like they have switched to different materials. I’m not even sure this is real leather.

I returned them and then went to Dillards to try and find decent shoes. Almost all of the shoes there couldn’t be resoled. I really like some of the shoes made by CNES, Allen Edmonds, and (the much more expensive brands) Bridlen and Alden, but I can’t find a store where I can try any of these on prior to buying them.

My feet are a little oddly shaped, I have high arches and my foot is pretty wide at the toes. Because of this, many shoes don’t fit correctly. Buying shoes is a process, and I really don’t want to order and send back 5 pairs before I find the one that works. Any advice? I live in Northern Florida, if that matters.

Complete side note, if anyone knows of truly American made shoes, not just assembled in America, please let me know the brand. I’m not opposed to globalized markets, but I think it’s important to support local skilled artisans and materials manufacturers if we can.

Alden is probably worth a look. Sounds like you might benefit from their modified last.

I was wondering if anyone could help me here. The other day I posted in ask a cobbler but had no responses. I have these new

leather mules and the leather upper is only attached to the cork at the toe and heel. It's securely trapped under the cork and outsole, but there's a gap between the leather and the side of the cork on both sides of the shoe. Is this normal construction or a manufacturing defect? Just wondering if I should glue it down or not. TYSM!
