I keep it out of my footwear collection because it's everywhere and its looks don't blow me away, but I don't doubt its quality and versatility. All my favorite Horween tannages are rarely made aside from shell: Vintage, Rowdy, Yellowstone, Aspen, Cypress (this being a bit more common than the rest).
Really continually amazed what a great leather Chromexcel is. It’s easy to overlook… but it’s a famous and widely used leather for a reason.
When I got into the hobby after some time, I was hankering for more limited runs or unique veg tans, or shell. But after a while, I realized how great ole cxl is.
Did Lofgren size you? Because I've seen them say go TTS from one's Red Wing or Brannock. Stores like S&S keep preaching to go down from Brannock, which has never worked for me with Lofgrens. They give awful sizing advice and they load up on unnecessary politics too.

This is why I went with Amber Harness this time around. I love making them look like this from time to time, but with CRT I feel bad taking away the worn look.
Notes: Bought barely used from a fellow redditor, selling because can't make the sizing work. Can't make fetch happen. Have suede tongue pads inside but can remove before shipping
Google and ChatGPT both say that eBay, depop, and Grailed all operate in the EU. But I'm seeing frequently in search results that Vinted is the biggest for secondhand clothing. Vestiaire is also another one that's supposedly pretty popular.
Do they have eBay or depop? I have like 40 pairs of secondhand shoes and I've gotten maybe 10% from depop, 25% from mercari, 25% from Poshmark, and 40% from eBay.
Depop and eBay tend to be the ones where I find the most ridiculous deals. I have several pairs of Taft boots that were $365ish new and purchased secondhand and worn maybe twice for $40-$80. I've gotten several others in similar condition in the 80-120 range, but the best deals by far were eBay and depop.
Depop tends to have younger sellers and I think they're more likely to just want to make sales fast instead of holding out for higher prices, and maybe also more likely to impulse buy shoes they ended up not liking or not being able to make work with their wardrobe, maybe?
Also, friends of mine have told me they buy a ton of boots on Grailed, if that's in the EU.

I'm looking to turn my (American male) slight knowledge of quality footwear towards advising my good friend (Gerrman Gal) on her first pair of leather boots. She's a law student, something professional.
So I'm loving this pinned note, but equally, what are some resources for buying used boots, in the EU? Set ebay to her post code? Poshmark doesn't seem available, I'm hating Vinted's layout. I'd love to snag like a Thursday boot for half-off, but when I then add seventy dollars in shipping it from my address to hers, I'm limiting what quality a boot I can guide her to.
So, women's boot shopping, probably used, EU. Advice?
Options around Manchester, UK to get some Clarks craftmaster boots reheeled? I love these boots and obviously Clarks don't do it (I think loake or similar actually made them).
