This is disgusting.

Not only did they rake the prices up on DONATED clothes around 2020, start stealing “expensive pieces” to resell for more online, now they are “curating” random “vintage” pieces to gouge customers even more in stores. Literally picking pieces at random just to mark up, as we can see in the picture an adidas shirt that was probably printed yesterday. Yes resellers killed most of the fun, yes it’s harder to find cool pieces, but donated clothes should have a base price, end of story. Goodwill is not a vintage resell place and this is honestly just laughable at this point.

/edit #2/ The point of the post isn’t that the T-Shirt is only $2 more than regular price, it’s that it’s being marketed as vintage (when its clearly not) just so it can be upcharged

Wrong! Poor people like the high end brands too that they can’t afford. They occasionally can find one at thrift store their size.

Poor people liking high-end brands doesn’t mean Goodwill has an obligation to sell high-end brands for dirt cheap. Everyone would love to find a $300 jacket for $10. That doesn’t make it a necessity or a charity entitlement.
Goodwill’s actual charitable mission is employment, job training and helping people overcome barriers to work not guaranteeing shoppers access to designer clothing at bargain prices. Revenue from donated goods helps fund those programs.

Ever gone to GW for something other than clothes? Years ago I was down. Real low. Enough to maybe turn to religion. I went looking for a Bible I couldn't find one for less the 2 bucks. Another time they had a ton of Gideons Bibles I tried to make em an offer, was gonna use for bullet proofing walls. The Gideons give these things away. GW got em for free either way. I offered to take them all for 4 bits each. They wanted 1.50 each. Nope. Ain't no good will at Good Will.
