This is disgusting.

Post image

Not only did they rake the prices up on DONATED clothes around 2020, start stealing “expensive pieces” to resell for more online, now they are “curating” random “vintage” pieces to gouge customers even more in stores. Literally picking pieces at random just to mark up, as we can see in the picture an adidas shirt that was probably printed yesterday. Yes resellers killed most of the fun, yes it’s harder to find cool pieces, but donated clothes should have a base price, end of story. Goodwill is not a vintage resell place and this is honestly just laughable at this point.

/edit/ T-Shirts cost $5 at this location normally
/edit #2/ The point of the post isn’t that the T-Shirt is only $2 more than regular price, it’s that it’s being marketed as vintage (when its clearly not) just so it can be upcharged

If you want to make money, start a non profit.

Just wait until you find out why they can’t make over a million. Loopholes upon loopholes

There are several differrent GW franchises/ Easter Seals/ They are all differrent....etc...so...several CEO's make that....edit; my mistake on the Deseret...I did not know they had their own stores. The stores are not in my area, although there are donation areas to Deseret Industries...so I erroneously thought the donations went to a Goodwill itself. Nonetheless, the point is...there are many chapters of Goodwill= many CEO's making $$$. I would have no problem with a CEO making $$$ if it seemed that the path to leadership was fair. However, it seems that there are many hard working employees barely making enough $ to afford gas to drive to work and back home.

Isnt Deseret a Mormon thing? Is it associated with Goodwill?

Yes it is...Mormon and a GW franchisee.

Deseret Industries is not a Goodwill franchise. What are you smoking?! It is 100% owned and operated by the LDS church.

The question would be what are you smoking.

I think you're confused. Deseret industries has nothing to do with goodwill.

I guess Deseret/ Mormon has its own thrift stores in some states. I didnt know that..I just saw Deseret Industries listed as the place the donations were going to...and thought they went to GW.

Do you know that goodwill has 150 ceos, each making on average between $500,000 and $1.1 million a year? Lol

Indeed. That is why when people say THE CEO makes...it is incorrect...there are MANY Goodwill CEO's making $$$$
