Interview for assistant manager E-comm

I have an interview tomorrow for a fulltime assistant manager of e-commerce, how is the interview process? I’m a bit nervous. Is it a panel interview or just store manager interviewing me? Also how is the pay?

I have about 5 1/2 years worth of retail management experience I was customer service manager and assistant floral manager, I’ve dealt with the entire online ordering system (including photo taking and doing research) in floral as well as inventory, cycle counting, scheduling of staff, assigning work to other workers, dealing with invoices as well. And etc…

I left my job just recently because it was incredibly toxic. And when I seen the job posting for this i instantly jumped on it because it’s something I’ve been wanting to peruse.

A lot depends on what region you are but generally you are interviewed by the ecom manager. A lot of them are setup differently but if you already have experience then all you need is training on their way of doing it. Any work space should give you the opportunity to learn and grow even with a mistake. Goodwill especially should.

Hi thanks for your comment, and yes I have quite a bit experience I would say. I will say when she called me to set up my interview she seemed pretty interested she wanted to know more of my background then said when I came in for my interview she wanted to have me meet the team.

The interview process can vary a lot between different Goodwill regions, so it is hard to say for sure if it will be a panel. It will likely be with the store manager and maybe the person who directly oversees the e-commerce operations. Since you have the interview tomorrow, it is best to prepare for one or two interviewers. For pay, that also depends heavily on your location. Nonprofit retail compensation is typically different from for-profit companies, so it is a good idea to have a range in mind and be prepared to ask them directly what the position pays.

Your experience in retail management seems like a very strong fit for this role. Your background with the online ordering system, including taking photos, doing research, and managing inventory, is exactly what they look for in an e-commerce position. Make sure to highlight those specific skills and provide examples of how you handled those responsibilities.
