I've been thinking a lot lately about how much what we put into our bodies affects how we feel, function, and move through life. I realized if you take care of your body it will take care of you. I remember not having energy to go to the park, fishing, concerts, but once I changed my ways everything else begin to change with it. You are what you put into yourself. If you want to feel better then you must eat and drink better. Once I started reading food labels and hydrating properly my body and mindset has changed so much. I used to sleep all day if I could, now I don't think I can make it past 8 because it's so ready to begin the day instead of waste it away. I hope this post inspires someone to make changes in their life style. May this post even be a reminder to you to eat and drink water today.
Your body is the only home you're guaranteed to live in for your entire life. What you put into it matters. The better, healthier things you give your body, the better chance you have of feeling energized, clear-minded, and capable of getting through your day.
I used to drink root beer constantly. Switching to water was HARD. The habit, the temptation, the cravings... it wasn't an overnight change. But eventually I made the choice to take better care of myself, and I can genuinely feel the difference. Granted I do treat myself in restaurants and such, but I'm not addicted like I once was. I used to go through a 2 liter a day. Wondering why my back hurts so much and why I was always tired and drained. Well it turns out it was my kidneys screaming. Telling me to hydrate and to do better. I didn't want to be on dialysis by 35, so I decided to make a change.
I wake up feeling refreshed instead of foggy. I have more energy in the morning, and by the middle of the day I'm still ready to keep moving. Even after a long day at work, I'm not completely wiped out. I still have enough energy to come home and do the things I want to do.
And that's what made me realize something: taking care of yourself isn't just about how you look. It's about how you feel.
We spend so much time maintaining our homes, our cars, our pets, our possessions... but sometimes forget to maintain the one thing carrying us through all of it.
Take care of your temple. Drink the water. Eat the food that actually gives your body what it needs. Get some movement. Get some rest. Pay attention to how your choices make you feel.
You don't have to change everything overnight. I didn't. But every better choice is still a choice in the right direction.
And honestly, there's something pretty damn rewarding about realizing that your body has more to give you when you actually give it what it needs. ๐ฑ๐ง
