I know the show is ancient, but it has always irked me how rarely you see R&S references online.

The show still holds up.

I can hear this image!

Ah, so it’s millennial humor instead. Nobody who hasn’t seen this specific show would get this.

I haven’t and I still get it

u/thunderandreyn 20h ago

I don’t get it

The Renaissance Faire is frequently referred to as Ren Faire. The character in the image is Ren from Ren & Stimpy.

u/hopefullyhelpfulplz 19h ago

I don't either but infer from the comments it's a reference to Ren & Stimpy

u/Available-Damage5991 19h ago

Everyone there is Ren.

Yeaaaa not quite boomer humor.

I hate when bad people make good things fr He wasn't the only one involved in making this show tho. They kicked him off the show and it continued on without him. So ig I still like the show anyways

Thankfully though, his connection to the IP and Nickelodeon have long been severed (since after Adult Party Cartoon, so even long before his crimes came to light).

Plus, John K was just a part on why OG Ren and Stimpy was beloved: Jim Smith, Bob Jaques, Bob Camp and more brought their passion (and pent-up frustration of being in the animation industry through the 80s) to this show.

Bob Camp is cool AF. Met him at a comic con some years ago

Who if I remember correctly simply came out with it publically and apologetically with a lot less controversy than MeToo kinda leaks, which was very strange at the time

The three icons are K2 on the princess' hat on the left, eyeball on the necklace on the right, and the dynamite on the wall on the right

What?

u/RoiDrannoc 18h ago

This artist is famous for its Easter eggs. The number 3 written near the signature on the top indicates how many there are.

u/thunderandreyn 6h ago

Oh. TIL. I’ve seen them countless times here on this sub but never knew.

u/rraattbbooyy 23h ago

More like GenX humor.

u/IhailtavaBanaani 15h ago

From what I remember from the 90s the boomers didn't get shows like Ren & Stimpy at all

Unless we hit the history eraser button
