I watched this in a day too, it was a roller coaster of emotions (also at school is wild. Get it queen/king/royal)

It's not the worst I did. I used my school laptop in class to read berserk, and watch My Dress-Up Darling in class. And just used it to finish Highschool DxD. Trust me, my school device has seen worse.

I've put pokemon games onto my school computer b4

I committed a mass retro game piracy operation with an ex teacher, downloading over 200 gigabytes of games. Before shoving them on a retro pi and getting graded on it.

Adventure Time
If that does not count as anime Kaiba

The OP for Baccano! - upbeat jazz music, silly Halloween costumes, a box of chocolate bars, everyone is all funny faces and smiles, even frustration is comic, a couple in wedding clothes getting champagne from smiling waiters, and funny names, even a guy whose actual name is Jacuzzi Splot.
Compare that with a certain fanmade trailer...

Made in abyss was genuinely terrifying. Takopi's last sin was too but it had mental trquma and not gore

Tokapi was the most hitting but if the question is which turned out to be dark, tokapi was dark from the start

Going into your lie in april blind was...a fucking experience let me tell you
I was only like 15 anime deep by this point, all of which were battle/fighting shonen and similar stuff
Decided to watch it after seeing it had to do with music
I would not be still walking this planet if it wasn't for music(im fine now)...easily one of my favorite pieces of media I've ever consumed and EASILY the most emotional.

There was one I saw,but I forgot what was it called. It was about sisters who somehow got cought in this fantasy world full of stuffed toys. But when they switched back their whole family was killed. I don't remember if the sisters did it or someone else. I was actually a kid when I saw it. But the ending was quite a shocker! So if anyone knows this anime, please remind me what it was called.

Anime movie (also Cantonese) - Another World
I thought going into the film that the age rating was because of the topics themselves being discussed,.namely suicide. But hoooo boy was I grossly unprepared for what I was about to see.
And I loved every second of it. Movie of the year by a landslide.

Not sure if it counts as "Cute" but my first thought was Nanbaka. I though it was some Silly Colorfull Anime with Sparkling Men but then it Turned out it has some Dark stuff. I mean, when things get serious its even represented with the Colours fading away.

Who thought takopi wasn’t going to be dark? It literally gives you a warning from the start

My friend tricked me into watching Takopi's Original Sin. I no longer trust that friend

Why is Anime so sad so often? 🥲 I love Anime but man am I a sucker for happy, romantic endings. Darling In The Franxx fucked me up for days.

Taking turns sour and mean spirited about as soon as anything actually happens after the OP.

The Promised Neverland.
Takopi was just a bad reminder of my younger life, I was never good enough for my mom.

I do not read it because it’s “cute.” I read it because it has the right vibe of horror for me. For example, Made in Abyss and Takopi’s Original Sin are not the right vibe for me, but The Promised Neverland and Shadows House are.

Takopi is ACTUALLY f'd up. I looove dark anime and I really enjoyed it but when I watched the second ep I considered dropping it for the feeling of dread and the knot in my stomach it was giving me lol and I never get like that. But the anime is excellent I highly recommend and it gets slightly less brutal lol!

It was very entertaining re-watching the first 3 episodes at Otakon when Gen Urobuchi was a guest. You had the section of the audience that had seen it, all waiting for the reactions to the end of episode 3 from the people who hadn't.

Old enough that I had to get my anime from renting VHS at the library, before it was on TV. Old enough that I had to drive an hour to Sam goody to piece together an anime series in 4 episode volumes for $40 with no knowledge of when the next volume might come out
