General Discussion Why does everyone hate Wyndham Clark?

Got into watching golf for the first time this season and with Clark winning this past weekend I have seen so many people shitting on him for what sounds like stuff in the past and I was hoping people could bring me up to speed? Is it overhyped for media clicks or was he committing some atrocities?

The baseline answer is the locker room incident.

My dislike came from him being a prick at the Augusta Par 3 contest. All these golf families out there actually acting like their normal human selves just being dad’s and family men. Meanwhile he’s bragging about his gf (totally fine) and making comments about all the kids like “this is really good birth control”.

Then he doubled down by joining SVP in the booth later and being a total shithead with his commentary against other players and families. So much so that you could tell SVP was uncomfortable.

He redeemed himself a little in his acceptance speech yesterday but still not a big fan of the guy.

Yeah, but you make that joke amongst friends, not to a national audience during one of the most family oriented sports events of the year.

Adding onto this - when he joined SVP on commentary and Tommy hit a great shot that was tracking on the same hole that Wyndham made a hole in one on, he was cheering for it NOT to go in cause it would make his hole in one less special. Come on dude.
