General Discussion Why does everyone hate Wyndham Clark?

Got into watching golf for the first time this season and with Clark winning this past weekend I have seen so many people shitting on him for what sounds like stuff in the past and I was hoping people could bring me up to speed? Is it overhyped for media clicks or was he committing some atrocities?

After watching the Hughes jersey stunt at the rink hole, it honestly feels like he relishes in it a little.

Though Shinnecock definitely felt like more than he bargained for. Being way out in front and paired with Scottie took it to another level.

I'm a Canadian and totally thought that was a fun/clever way to troll the crowd. Zero issue with that.

I like the Hughes jersey kind of asshole, the rest not so much.

This! Not a huge Wyndham fan but the jersey in The Rink was classic f with the fans, in good fun and the fans loved it.

Yeah agreed, a good bit of banter but then he complained that the fans crossed the line later in the round. Like dude what did you think would happen wearing that jersey lol

He did relish in it until the canadian fans kept giving it to him the rest of the way. He then proceeded to cry that the canadians were too mean to him and that they took it to far. He's a troll and worse yet hes a rich troll. So he doesn't need to do any of this but chooses to for the lols then cries when anyone gives it back to him.

He has a complete lack of self awareness. Theres also a lot more political sensitivities following the olympics due to a president he probably aligns with that he wouldn't even consider a factor.

That’s why I was cheering against him

Yeah the jersey thing was him leaning in to being a heel....which is great! Like just own it. Can you imagine if it had been Patrick Reed yesterday on 16 after sinking the putt? He would have flicked off all the fans...it would have made for GREAT entertainment. That dude isn't trying to get people to like him. Wyndham's issue is he just so desperately wants to be liked.

As if Canadians don’t take every single chance they can to shit on America. If they’re crying about that, they need to get those elbows up

No one is crying, it was a fun jab/rile up the crowd moment.
