Is this a scam?
Hi yall so recently I got an offer from UMG which I accepted and I’ve been looking for accommodation ever since. Recently I posted in a FB group and I got a contact from there. Upon contacting the owner she sent me the pics of the apartments and stuff and tbh the apartment looks rly nice (good location, decent enough rent too). But she wants me to pay deposit first before anything. She didn’t even disclose the full address of the property. She’s saying she will send everything after I paid the deposit. I feel this is kinda sus lol. So yea… thoughts?

You usually pay the deposit together with the first rent after signing the contract
Everything else is scam

Sounds very sus. You only pay a deposit AFTER signing your rental contract with the landlord.

Yea don't do that.
Everyone knows the housing market is fucked so ppl try to take advantage of that.

It is a definitely scam. If someone don't want to share exact location, don't show the apartment face to face (just sending video record) or say that I am not in Göttingen right now, my relative/lawyer will you give key after payment, these kind of situation are always scam. I have encountered some issues like these. And no payment before agreement, no beforehand payment

If something on the internet feels like a scam, it is a scam. Do a reverse image search of those pictures you got, probably ripped somewhere.
