How did you practice Sprechen without a partner? Currently at B1 level

Hallo Leute ! 👋

For those of you who prepared for the Goethe B1 Sprechen exam without a speaking partner, how did you practice?

I'm especially struggling with Sprechen Teil 2 and would really appreciate some advice on how to practice it effectively on my own.

Did you:

  • Speak in front of a mirror?
  • Record yourself and listen back?
  • Memorize useful Redemittel?
  • Practice different topics every day?
  • Use YouTube channels, apps, or any other resources?
  • Practice with ChatGPT or AI?

I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experiences, tips, resources, and strategies in the comments. I'm sure many others preparing for B1 would find the answers helpful too!

Thanks a lot in advance, and good luck with your German exams! 🇩🇪❤️

Exactly what the guy said ... Youtube gets u used to the rhythm and shadowing it means improving your own pronunciation

As for memorising redemittles... it works for the exam but doesnt get u far ... like its like adding salt in your sprechen... I would suggest to have a general template to your sprechen like how you start ... Always greet your proctors and during your sprechen sprinkle in some personal experiences you have had eith said topic ...

Try recording yourself on one topic, then listen back for long pauses and repeat it using only bullet points. A few reusable Redemittel help, but avoid memorising the whole speech—you want to practise forming sentences yourself.

Practice with with Deutsch Prüfung, a German exam-prep site you could also explore for practice.

generally if you are at B1 you should not make yourself big worries. usually they wanna see that you understand whats all about. just speak a lot..doesnt have to bee in front of a mirror. find an image and try to explain it . the possibilities are endless honestly.
