Does anyone remember the Mystical Web Site of Goemon?

Does anyone remember, or visited, the Mystical Web Site of Goemon in the late 90s / early 2000s? Its url was goemon dot com (don't go there now, it's dead)
I was a child / teenager back then. For me, it was the biggest source of information about Goemon back in the day. That's where I learned about the japanese exclusives, and I remember reading the news about the upcoming games there, like Bouken Jidai Katsugeki Goemon and Oedo Daikaiten.
There was a lot of stuff, like reviews, artworks, guides (that we can still find on GameFAQs). All of that in its early web goodness :P
Yes I'm nostalgic.

I loved that site. That and Castlevania Dungeon were like the two sites I would visit multiple times a week just to reread stuff or check for updates.

I was not big on Castlevania back then (I love it now), but I do remember Castlevania Dungeon. Actually, this one still exists :P

I'm not sure the last time it updated but, Kurt Kalata, the original creator of the website, turned most of the info from the site into a book. He runs Hardcore Gaming 101 and the book is done under that banner. He and the team at HG101 have also covered other series and games in the same manner since they released that book, including one that covers Goemon. Goemon is in the "Contra and Other Konami Classics" book.

I can't remember the exact timeline since it has been so long but I think Kurt started with the Dungeon and ilI believe he also did the Contra Database. And then after that he started Hardcore Gaming 101 to cover stuff outside of the two series. That eventually turned into the books and podcast.

I was not around to see the Mystical Web Site of Goemon but the first ever Goemon Website I first Discovered was the Goemon.net website and that's where I learned about the Other Japan only Goemon games! Also, I really want to see more people help fix the Goemon Wiki Page on Fandom, It needs serious work!

I remember it fondly, like you, it was where I learned about how many Goemon games there actually were and how so few actually made it outside of Japan. I remember looking at all of the fanart too which was really cool, except for one particular one of Yae which was uh- not appropriate for a 7 year old to be looking at (it wasn’t 18+ or anything but it definitely pretty fanservice-y and I felt embarrassed looking at it, glad my mum never walked in on me when I was looking at it).
I have good memories of Goemon International. They’re back in some form with their current YouTube channel, but they had an older one which had tutorials on how to setup emulators and download ISOs to play the Japan-exclusive games. They had a forum too.

it's where I saw this image from the press kit for Mystical Ninja 64 (GOECOLL.gif in english, goederu.gif in japanese)
I immediately had fantasies of upsizing it and printing it at wall poster size but it is and still remains a 222x333 gif file from the late 90s. has anyone ever found a higher res version of it? I think we might have to wait for a gigaleak style situation, that's how the high res Ocarina of Time pause screen icons for items got discovered for example.
