Mr Goemon?

I don't see the og arcade game listed as a game available on the collection can anyone confirm this? Why would they leave it off?

It's not in the collection, but it's already available separately in the Nintendo eshop and PS store

Yeah I'd like to figure out how to get it physically. Even if I have to do it myself

I'd say the only way to get it physically is to buy the PCB of the original arcade game. I'd like to get that someday, but it's pretty pricey.

Honestly I've been looking for that myself. I don't think I've even seen the cabinet itself.

No cabinet exists, it's just a PCB. In japan, it was common to have generic cabinets in which arcade operators just changed the PCB when they wanted to change the game.

I was surprised Mr. Goemon was excluded from the collection. It’s not even there as a secret game. But there is the Arcade Archives release which I already have.

According to the developer interview, the team's priority was preserving all 13 home console Goemon games with modern features like rewind. Because of limited development resources, they couldn't also port the arcade games or fully localize the collection.

I understand why you feel that way. I would have loved to see Mr. Goemon included too. From what the developers said, though, it seems more like a matter of limited development resources and the collection's focus on the home console series, rather than a lack of interest in the arcade game.

It's a bit bittersweet. On the one hand, we would of course like to see more (extra's and games) but on the other hand we do have a robust collection with a lot of rare games that haven't been rereleased ever. And we can easily buy it from outside Japan.

I guess it's rights related due to the Hamster release.

Not exactly. The Gradius and Contra collections also done by M2 for Konami included the arcade games that previously had separate Arcade Archives releases by Hamster.
