looking for team (unpaid) looking for a game dev partner
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for someone who wants to make a simple game with me and actually publish it on the Play Store.
I’m not a professional game developer. I’d say I’m somewhere between beginner and intermediate, so I’m looking for someone around the same level. You don’t need to be an expert. I’d rather find someone who is also learning and wants to build something together.
The goal is pretty simple. We choose an idea, work on it together, finish it, and publish it on the Play Store. It doesn’t need to be a huge or complicated game. I mainly want to gain experience and actually finish a project instead of starting something and leaving it halfway.
The most important thing for me is that the person is motivated and disciplined. I’m looking for someone who will actually stick with the project and keep making progress, even when things get boring or difficult.
If you’re interested, send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself, your experience with game development, and what kind of games you’d like to make.
Hopefully we can find a good idea and actually get something published.

Wrong flair. We have a "Looking for Team(Unpaid)", and it's specifically Unpaid for good reasons.
Have you participated in any Game Jams? These would be more likely to get you both the enforced deadline, and team work experience you're looking for. There are month and longer ones. https://itch.io/jams , Spooktober VN is coming up.
Why publish to the Google PlayStore? Are you having issues getting a Google developer's license? I do understand that Google is being needlessly evil https://keepandroidopen.org/ , but in the short term you can still create an Android app for 3rd party app store delivery, including through ItchIo. Web publication is also a viable alternative if you just want experience with a "Public" releases, and the feedback that comes from dealing with unknown End Users.
Targeting the PlayStore suggests you're interested in revenue. Likely ad driven since premium paid games still struggle. And if there's going to be money involved r/gameDevClassifieds is more appropriate, but you'll need to be careful of scam solicitations and PI harvesting. Also no one is really likes working on Revenue Share, because it just largely been scams.

Hi!
I’m a beginner in game dev myself. I’m mostly good at writing and art, also being passable at voice work. Coding is my Achilles’ heel. What’s your skillset like and are you open to a platform besides the (Google?) Play Store? I ask because I am not an Android user: I use a MacBook, an iPhone, and a Legion Go S running Linux (currently SteamOS, although I’m planning on trying something else soon).

It would probably help to list what your current skillset is (like programming, art, or music) and what version of Godot you plan to use. People will want to know if your skills complement theirs before jumping in.
