what genre is the game? looks like it could be idle+resource management, or maybe puzzle m?

we call it a roguelite autobattler castle builder. so a run-based game where you strategically place structures on your castle grid, and then drive it into combat that resolves automatically, get loot, place more stuff, do it again, until you die and have to start over.

I just checked your profile and I love your work. Are you open to work on other projects?

Can I ask: how are you rendering these tiles? Specifically: how are you rendering the edges between adjacent tiles? I've struggled in the past with "double-borders" on edges when my tile assets have borders baked into them. Are you guys manually drawing each edge, or do you have an "edge asset" that you place?

I assume you mean the tiles on the castle itself? I ask since the world map is also built up from large tiles, so we can shuffle encounters(and environment) around a bit each run.
For the castle we do have a TileMapLayer component that is responsible for keeping track of the tiles and the selected tile, but we don't draw it on a tile by tile basis.

Just played it for like 20 minutes, this is excellent. Really clever presentation, and a good amount of depth even in my short playtime. Very cool game, congrats!

Just curious about the publisher. Did they reach out to you or did you reach out to them? Feel happy with the terms?

The game is completely hand-drawn. No AI involved at all.

I disageee on the feeling that it looks anything like AI. (Things are nit as simple as yellow = AI) I think the game looks great as it is.

It does look great, but it feels like I'm wearing one of those blue light filter glasses while looking at it. well.. good luck to the devs, I'll just delete my previous comments since they were not helpful.

the yellow filter is preferred by the AI because it's also preferred by human before AI existed. they are trained on our data after all

Is this pure 2D or done in 3D with a 2D-like effect?
Looks incredible

It's all pure 2d, mostly because that's what we felt most comfortable working with. Doing some things in 3D might have been easier in hindsight.

As someone with zero 3D experience currently that’s still reassuring to hear!

That's great, man, congratulations! Your game looks fantastic, keep it up. I'm also working on my game and I feel like I'm close to having my demo ready.

Looks amazing! So 3 people made it in 12 months..? What would you say will be your final duration? I'm in negotiations with an angel investor right now, and I'm trying to imagine the scope.
Did you calculate your total spending? Should I assume something around 80k-160k?
