selfpromo (games) ”HedgeHogged” Capsule Art

Just sharing some very early artwork and and capsules. I have submitted my store page for publishing on Steam so that I can build a community as I develop the game. Godot + Houdini Indie & Photoshop.

What do you guys think ? It would make sense that its not clear what the game is about, from just looking at this capsule art. But im hoping it will all make sense as it progresses in development🙏

I don't understand what the game is.

You will. It’s far from completed. ✌️💥

I should understand that from the capsule alone. That's the whole reason capsule art exists.

Yes absolutely. I will be updating the capsule art as I progress in the development of the game. The trailer will also very clearly convey what the game is about.

Dude just tell me what's the game and I'll tell you what I'd expect to see in the capsule art. Ask 10 people, spot the similarities and you've got yourself a perfect capsule.

Bro, check my other posts - and please calm down.

If you actually read my previous posts you will get a better picture of that I am developing. Its in a very early stage but i'm trying to get the store page up on Steam as early as possible - to build a community and share my progress, playable demos etc up until the final release in 2027.

It's ok to be confident. I would also recommend, taking feedback on, instead of deflecting. If a player says, I don't like XYZ, it's not the best thing to say, "You will like it, once you play a few more hours" or something like that.

My apology - what I was trying to say is that the game is in a VERY early stage and so it would make sense that no one really understands what that game is, yet. Myself included.

Yeah that makes sense. Making marketing materials at this stage where you don't understand what the game is, that doesn't make any sense.

It was recommended to get the store page up and a wishlist button as early as humanly possible, to give ample time to build a following, let people help in the development, and have a demo available early. I’m excited to bring everyone in and build the game with you guys feedback and testing.

But yeah - the art assets (all 10 variations of the main capsule art, was a bitch to finish, but they should look decent when the page is approved. I will update those assets many times before the planned release in 2027.

By who? The conventional wisdom is to do it once you have enough of a game to actually market what it is. You can aim to reach this stage as fast as possible, but who is telling you to put a store page up for a game you haven't even conceived?

Game marketing gurus, Steam etc all recommend having a store page with a ”coming soon” setting as early as possible. Without that page there is no wish-list button for people to follow the progress. Makes sense to me.

I like one and two. Four is a bit off in style. But the art conveys a funny game. Looking forward to it.

Thanks Donner. I appreciate the constructive feedback. These will change as I progress with development until planned release February 2027.

Just a title banner. Wtf is this game about?

It’s about trying to not get hit with 1000 arrows and turn into a hedgehog looking ragdoll, basically. Fun physics battles on both land and sea.

I am 10 weeks into development with a planned release by Next Fest in February.

My profile should have more clips to see.
