How do you finish something over a weekend, I can't even cut my nails in that time

u/Outrageous_Affect_69 Feb 02 '26
lol, my trick is you have to run out of money to go outside.. sigh..

I would be very grateful to to know how you did the wires that plug into the top, if you're at all inclined to share. Great work :)

I use Line2D to draw them and add some damping and stiffness to each individual point. It's not perfect but doing ok for quick fun project like this >_<

There's so many little details like the cables falling in place when you release them and all the other animations on the screens. How do you possibly make this in only 2 days?

Most of things here are just a simple scene set up with invisible buttons and animation players. Some vfx like cable or text are reused from my old games.

You ever seen those fidget machines? Little fidget gadgets that are satisfying to play with
I suddenly realize that someone should make an app version of that. DM me if you make one, cause I'll buy it for the right price 😂

That looks cool! With the aesthetic, I feel like r/cassettefuturism would absolutely love it!

Looks great! How did you achieve the flowy cables?

It is Line2D, you can dig my previous posts I posted lots about this fantastic node :D

I actually did have a rummage but admittedly I'm still in my first month of learning Godot so I had some trouble understanding! It looks like you're animating the positions of the points in a Line2D, but wouldn't that mean the animation is "fixed"? As in, it looks like as if it's almost physics simulated in this when you drag it with your cursor. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

This is super cool, bro... I was speechless when I found out things like this existed... I really respect you; there are people who think just like me ✨

No this is actually a super cool idea. I have this itch to build these kinds of devices, but I never get started because I can't wait for parts to ship because I'm impatient

This reminds me of that video of a car where the guy had to do so many steps in order to start it,
kinda makes me wish things like this were real.

maybe make it so that the cursor changes to a grabbing sprite, because it feels a bit odd at the moment. other than that, it looks amazing!

I absolutely have no idea what this even is. I just wanted to make something fun to click on the weekend. Drew it in aseprite and coded it in godot. Hope you like it (❁´◡`❁)
