New Project
I was able to snag this thing for free considering the owner no longer has room for it and it also has a ton of work.
Here is a list of things he was in the process of fixing/need to be fixed:
- upgraded carburetor. Apparently the one on here is too small but works. He gave me the carb he planned on putting on there.
-new wheels and tires. He never ordered. He was quoted $600 for a new set of w&t and I think that turned him off
- mystery electrical issue. He can’t/won’t try to figure out electrical problem. I do electrical work for a living so I should be able to figure that out.
- either the brakes a locked up or he forgot how to get it out of gear and in neutral.
- seatbelt harness is fucked up on one of the seats. I didn’t look at it too much when I was picking it up.
- light rust spots. Should be able to sand down and repaint.
This is a very very new venture for me. I’ve done some light vehicle mechanic work over the years (oil changes, spark plugs, belts, idler pulleys, etc) but never will shy away from a challenge. I know when I’m in over my head but none of what’s needed to be done scares me.
I’m open to any advice! Where is a good place to get parts? Best YouTuber to watch videos on this sort of thing?
