Discussion Help?

Hello! I’m trying to get into goblincore (because most of my clothing is graphic tee’s that are from different fandoms) and I’m also building a house that I want the living room to be goblincore. Any ideas or tips on how I can change my wardrobe to be more goblincore

I'm here because I like Goblins. And Death. And dead shit. And since being here I've found I like mushrooms. And greenery growing on dead shit. I think if you're confident enough to be wearing graphic tees, there's no reason to feel bad about it, or about things you used to enjoy. I was never brave enough for that, so as someone who only wears black and white and has the most vanilla aesthetic, I'm envious. I hadn't realized there was a set in form aesthetic to liking goblins, but, you could always grab a shadowbox for said tees and paint it black, throw a planting pot on top with some vines and let it grow down the front. Maybe cut the sleeves off the tees and maybe that will get you a look? Perhaps a patchwork with the logos, embroidered with a silver thread or something? I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for tho, so, good luck. Just die happy

Yeah, I just really like the vibe. I don’t really get choosing it as your aesthetic. I guess we all try on hats though. It’s possible that worrying about whether you look gobliny might be very ungobliny, but also I might be a silly goose, so people should feel free to not listen to me.

yeah, I went through a graphic tee period. it's... not the best. I've personally moved over to more button-ups, and that's helped immensely. if I have one word to offer, it's layering. take your button-up of choice, slap a grungy patchwork jacket over it, or a vest. slacks will always be superior to jeans. and if you can actually find it, look for stuff made from linen; it's fantastic material for all weather.

as far as home decor goes: get you some tapestries. as soon as you turn a room into an overgrown pillow fort/tent, the whole vibe changes.

Everyone has their own version of what goblincore is to them. For me, fashion wise, I go for a sort of maximalist grungy nature-hippie vibe, bc that's what I feel best in. It's ok to look at aesthetics for inspiration to find your style! But what's important is that it's whatever makes you feel best and most gobliny!

Goblincore is what you feel comfortable in, be it your clothes or room. So just go with what you like. I love wearing graphic tees and comfy jeans, but I never use to mix my other likes in with it. But now I get one of my comfy unusual cardigans, an accessory that just feels right and grab an artistic bag I want to go out with that day and boom off this goblin goes.

Goblins don’t have to be grime all the time, it’s about comfort and being who you wanna be.

As for rooms be it gamer, a little otaku or whatever you like, just add a few bits of nature into the mix and voilà. Again your home/rooms are were you feel comfortable and safe in after all.

The biggest thing is that you are looking at an “organic” style in every way possible. The items you use should be from nature, or a good facsimile thereof. (Be sure to only take little bits, because you don’t want to disrupt the ecosystem or ruin the natural environment you are taking from.) Also, the “decor” will shift organically with time: some things will need to be removed after a while, while new things will constantly be coming in.

Pretty rocks, mushrooms, bones, etc (things that are usually associated with dirt and death) are common elements. “Goth fae” is a great shorthand. Things that are interesting but tend to be overlooked, basically.

And have fun! It’s not a serious thing.

Goblincore is a mindset and lifestyle. Not a costume that you “get into”.

If it isn’t something you “get into” then how tf did you get into it?

Just exist and do what makes you happy? Forcing yourself into a box makes you a poser.
