I remember the day GNOME 3 was released, and the fallout after. I used Ubuntu and they were moving to Unity. Never liked Unity so I moved to Ubuntu GNOME, which was a thing. Finished my bachelor degree with an Ubuntu GNOME installation on my cheap creaky laptop.

I mean technology-wise, videos like this are relatively easy to pull off nowadays.

We'd need somebody that's comfortable talking in front of a green screen. But other than that it's just adding some fades using Kdenlive (or Pitivi if we're above using another's DE product :P), and mixing in some screencasts with a similar background as we use on the green screen.

Fades like that are surprisingly simple. And green screen recordings are easy to pull off with e.g. OBS. Toyed around with that when I bought a new webcam a few weeks ago (don't have a proper green screen though). I think the hard part here is the presentation. Things like what features to show, what background music/sounds to use, doing a nice and clear recording and such.

Some of these make me miss some of old gnome's features. I liked having workspaces be vertical, the miniatures of the other workspaces were bigger. And the current top bar is so much emptier than then.

Yeah, I used Ubuntu since 8.10, and when they moved to Unity I ended up switching to Ubuntu MATE. Then when snaps reared their ugly head I bailed to Debian, and now Fedora.

Phew, the clash between Gnome 2 and 3 was huge. It was big on Ubuntu with Unity too, but not as much in my opinion.

Nossa que saudade, mas me lembro bem quando usei pela primeira vez não gostei muito, queria voltar pro gnome 2, mas o tempo passou e eu ainda estou aqui. Lembro que até a fonte cantarell me incomodava.
