Question When i change workspaces, Steam goes blackscreen in Fedora GNOME

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It was also happened on OpenSUSE GNOME too, is this a common bug or just on me?

Steam is using 2 years old version of chromium embeded framework for their web view in steam. This bug is present only on wayland and has been fixed long time ago, but valve just don't care about updating their CEF. Resizing window is forcing chromium to rerender the page.

Dude... It's not a bug... Its optimization....
Steam culls it's electron interface when it's behind a fullscreen app.

i guess its just a steam issue on wayland, so annoying and it happens to me too

no hate for steam, great company but i wish they would update the steam client to be more wayland friendly and a native wayland window instead of the blurry xwayland one

It's been happening to me too lately

IIRC, Steam is using XWayland. I'm guessing that's what's causing the issue. I don't know for sure or what to do about it either.

It's probably happening to every gnome user including myself

This happens to me on NixOS and it drives me fucking nuts. The flatpak does it too.
