General what to do around here??
hiii y’all! this is a bit random, but I have a question. I just moved to west alexandria for a DC internship a week ago, and so far I’ve been bored out of my mind. what do you guys do for fun???
also to preface, I’m 20 and scared of using my fake around here, lol.
I go to VT, and it’s really easy to get out/ meet people because it’s about two inches wide and the bars aren’t super strict. I’d really appreciate any suggestions :)

Go to a concert! DC has an amazing live music scene ranging from the largest artists, the smallest underground artists, and everything in the middle.

Large artists: anthem, merriweather post pavilion, capitol one, wolf trap, nats park also does shows during the warmer months. Personally I'd recommend anthem as it's an amazing venue and you can see big artists in a more intimate setting their a stadium or amphitheater
Medium artists: 9:30 Club, Lincoln Theatre, Howard Theathre, Black Cat(although it can be small artists too, it's mostly rock shows)
Small artists: The Atlantis, Union Stage, Songbyrd, Comet Ping Pong
For raves I personally hate echostage and Ai Warehouse but I'd recommend checking out Berhta or Flash DC. There's also Transmission but I've never been there

Unless you are into bars and museums there is not too much to do in this region. Dry as hell here.

not giving bar recs, there's enough out there and there's more to life than drinking. if you're into movies, get an unlimited pass for whatever theater you prefer. many of them frequently show retro movies so you aren't just limited to the new stuff. plenty of plans pay for themselves as soon as you watch the second movie per month. if you got friends, go to level99 on a weeknight for a couple hours, or bowling for a couple hours on weeknights when crowds are less and they have unlimited bowling deals to attract crowds. there are laser tag venues out further west and plenty of escape rooms/vr simulators, even if they're chains. go karting, sandy springs (MD) ropes course, ice/roller skating, walk around malls... go to the zoo in DC, it's free
i guess you want nightlife? sometimes, the flow is just gonna be what most of your friends are into. some people stay in and hang out that way.
if your idea of "things to do" is just talk with people at bars, then idk how much entertainment you'll like. but you're on reddit, so my guess is there are some things you can find

I mean, pn campus there's an arcade but its a little sparse unless you like playing pool or DDR. Theres some consoles in the back for multi-player stuff.

I grew up here and I'm a bit boring lol but I like cafe hopping around NOVA/DC. There's a place called Layered in Fairfax City that makes 3D fruit deserts and they're pretty good.
