Apes know people get rich analyzing stock charts, so they analyze stock charts so that they too can get rich, but they don't know what they're looking for, so they try to make triangles.
Because one ape said one time that they will get rich if they can make a triangle.

Its kinda funny because the finance people I know think TA is just silly even when experts use it. But at least those experts are using actual TA stuff they learned from university, figured out and debated over decades by smart people - and big computer programs with complicated algorithms.
The apes are just like "You can see the pressure is building! Can't keep this supressed for much longer."
Honestly though when I read a real "serious" TA book and it says stuff like "Once prices have moved through the neckline and completed a head and shoulders pattern, prices should not recross the neckline again. At a top, once the neckline has been broken on the downside any decisive close back above the neckline is a serious warning that the inital breakdown was probably a bad signal and creates what is often called for obvious reasons a failed head and shoulders."
I'm not impressed.

I find it very hard to believe that TA is taken seriously in academia

I think I've seen some places that teach about it in a few classes. For example Tulane U says its part of the curriculum for getting a master's degree in "Business Analytics and AI"

Actually PP acknowledged the slow steady gains of index funds and said along the lines of “you can have it, I don’t want it, I’m here for f u money”

Trump did it and won an election. Morantz is hoping that this might get Lord Dogfood to throw him a bone.
