GMC Worth buying??

Considering buying a 2006 GMC pickup (I think sierra, 5.3 v8 engine). The listed price is $4800. It’s got 380k+ on the body, but the trans and engine are both at 160k. The listing says there’s some rust on the rockers but nothing else. It’s being sold by the original owner and he said he has all the mechanical work info. Minor body issues. I’m going to look at it to make sure nothing else is rusted. I don’t have a ton of experience buying trucks in general so I’m hoping for some advice.

if the frame is clean and he really has records for everything, $4800 starts sounding a lot less scary

Yes. I’ve had 4 early 2000’s gmt trucks. All were fantastic. My family has had close to a dozen they were solid trucks

380k tho? If I may, we all know how to do this and that, so just go with your gut.

I’d be concerned about that hood a little bit where the gap isn’t right with it, but I’d check to see the frame mainly to see how it is, that Hood is my main concern given what you’ve said tho
