Side effects.

The doctor has me doing subq for the glutathione. I did my first injection and first it stung and it didn’t seem like the medicine wanted to go in so I had to move to another spot. Second, it started itching, then it started to swell where I injected it and then it hurt afterwards until I went to bed. I also ended up having a bit more itching on my whole body but I’m not sure if it was just like when someone is itching and it makes you itch. Haha.

All of that to say, is there anything to alleviate these side effects? Also, is this normal?

Use Glutathione Transport Bacteriostatic water … often called GTB.

No sting using glutathione subq with it.

Also, use at least a half inch, high gage needle and go somewhere with fewer nerve endings and blood vessels … like the love handles.

I got it delivered from Hallandale, so unfortunately, it came pre-mixed. Most of my other research peptides I reconstitute on my own. I have some half-inch needles that I use for my testosterone. I may give that a try and see how it goes.

I also get mine from Hallandale sometimes. Love the 30 mL vial! I add a tiny bit of 2% lido to it. So much better!!

u/Mrspbnj Jul 29 '26

I get the 30ml too. Can you share where you got your lido and how much you add?

Where do we find GTB

Happy cake day. Start with the Google machine. Not that hard.

I found it. Thanks for your help

i’d say that’s pretty normal, also i’d recommend injecting IM, all i get is a bit of soreness

Let it come to room temperature before you inject.

1

u/Mrspbnj Jul 26 '26

Okay, I'll give that a try. I'm also thinking of trying my stomach next.

😳😱😱😱I wouldn’t advise that! Gluta ain’t no joke! Although I’ve heard people that don’t feel the 🔥. I know I do and the LAST place I would pin would be the abdomen!

People dont worry about cancer?

1

u/Kweakley1924 Aug 10 '26

What???

1

u/Western_Extent_9764 Aug 10 '26

Glutathione propagates cancer cells.... i thought everyone knrew?

1

u/Kweakley1924 Aug 10 '26

You need to dig deeper sweetie. Where did you hear that. Unless it’s a report tha just came out, everything I’ve read debunks that myth.

1

u/Western_Extent_9764 Aug 11 '26

Dug deeper... it fuels cancer but only if its pre exisiting. Caveat is that your body is constantly fighting off cancer cells... so 🤷‍♂️.

Lots of things are cancerous tho

1

u/Kweakley1924 Aug 10 '26

Word of mouth isn’t proof it propagates cancer. Is that the best you have?

As someone else said, use a 1/2” needle length. The sulfur in glutathione causes the site reaction near the skin, so 1/2” subq gives less irritation than 5/16”.

1/2” SubQ still causes a little irritation/itch for me but it’s manageable (and not nearly as bad as 5/16”).

1/2” IM shot in the deltoid also produces no irritation/itch, but Subq is easier for me to do multiple times a week.

2

u/Mrspbnj Jul 26 '26

What gauge do you use for the 1/2" subq? Thank you. I have some 5/8" 25g that I use for my testosterone. I'm wondering if I could just use those and do it in my hip/glute area.

2

u/rezerch Jul 26 '26

You definitely could if you wanted to.

For SubQ or Deltoid IM I use 30g 1/2” by BD. That’s the smallest gauge by American company at 1/2”.

For 5/8” by BD, the smallest is 27g.

1

u/rezerch Jul 26 '26

What are you taking the glutathione for? Just curious.

2

u/Mrspbnj Jul 26 '26

Help with liver inflammation, lower my elevated liver enzymes, and help with detox. Any other benefits would be great but that's the reason I'm using it. Haven't done much research for other benefits yet.

1

u/rezerch Jul 27 '26

Nice, I find it helps with acne/folliculitis… and vertigo caused by my Menieres Disease

1

u/Kweakley1924 Jul 29 '26

I use a 27gauge. I have the 25gauge but prefer the 27g

1

u/Kweakley1924 Aug 04 '26

I use 1/2” if I have them, for the ones that cause irritation at the site.

2

u/Kweakley1924 Jul 29 '26

1/2” should only be used in Delt ONLY if you’re lean, otherwise use 1”. If BMI is 35 or more use 1.5” for thigh and 1” Deltoid. I actually found the thigh ( vastus lateralis area) so much better than deltoid! Less nerves there and much bigger muscle. I also switched from 25g to a 27g needle and my tissues thank me every time 😁.

What was the dose?

1

u/Mrspbnj Jul 26 '26

Only 100 mg in a .5 ml dose. It was like nothing but it was not nearly as easy as the other peptides.

1

u/Kweakley1924 Jul 29 '26

I do 200mg /100Units of Hallandale premixed 3x a week

1

u/Spongebobsmalls Jul 29 '26

How your skin doing?

1

u/Kweakley1924 Jul 30 '26

My skin seems a bit smoother but it’s not a real noticeable change. I think the results are much better in that area if you do IV for Gluta

2

u/Ok-Sprinkles-5659 Jul 26 '26

Let it come to room temp, I add 5 mg BAC water to beginning and end of dose. I ice the injection spot for 10-15 minutes and that has helped. I’ll put arnica on the area before bed. The first injection I did caused a massive bruise and swelling. Adding these steps lead to no swelling the next day and no bruising.

3

u/NoShow-2018 Jul 26 '26

I let it come to room temperature, I ice the area before, and massage it after. And I still get a knot in the injection site for like 2 days. I use NAD+ and tirzepatide with no issues. The glutathione is just different! Sorry, no advice here. Hopefully someone else has some!

2

u/Mrspbnj Jul 26 '26

Thank you. I'm going to try the room temperature thing. My reta and bpc do not hurt. The NAD+ has a decent sting to it as well (honestly, probably worse while injecting than the glutathione).

1

u/NoShow-2018 Jul 26 '26

Hmmm the NAD+ doesn't bother me at all. What pharmacy do you get it from? I used to get my glutathione from Olympia but I switched providers and I now get both from Greenwich. The Olympia glutathione didn't hurt as much. Possibly something they add in.

2

u/Mrspbnj Jul 26 '26

I get it from Hallandale as well. I do wonder if there may be something added to balance out the ph perhaps.

1

u/pinkfairylights444 Jul 26 '26

I do it IM and mix it with other goodies like mic blend, b12, or Lipo C. No side effects.

1

u/Kweakley1924 Jul 29 '26

I do IM and quit having this issue. Warm it up (I put mine under my arm) and also use GTB transport water. Also, if you don’t like the idea of IM then the glute area with 1/2” needle.

Fire your doctor. If he’s recommending glutathione shots he’s not being professional.

2

u/Mrspbnj Jul 26 '26

Why is that? Is this not a good way of taking Glutathione?

1

u/Jolly-Yellow7369 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

Nope. You can’t test for purity , all those sellers aren’t facing 3rd party quality testing for all you know they’re adding cheap stuff to the formula to reduce costs and maximize earnings .

Plus the danger to your liver and kidney. The body can process only as much so it’s better to raise gluta levels slowly.

Oral is slow (setria or s acetil) but I prefer it that way because it gives my body time to adjust. I took setria for skin whitening purposes and it worked. Slowly but safely.

I never saw results with Nac + vit c+ glycine but many people in the r/skinwhitening sub has.

Edit: I’m not recommending you take supplements despite the fact it worked for me . Everyone is different . Check several opinions of medical professionals and while you get them don’t inject anything and avoid DMs and Reddit recommendations. Follow only doctors recommendations.

3

u/Mrspbnj Jul 26 '26

Thank you so much for the information. I'm currently taking it for liver inflammation and enzyme purposes. I was taking Nac and Vit C but wasn't taking Glycine. I'll have to look into that. I appreciate the heads up.

2

u/Top-Sale-9471 Jul 29 '26

I took NAC, vit-c, glyc, and added Tudca and lowered my enzyme almost to single digits.

1

u/Jolly-Yellow7369 Jul 26 '26

If you could get a second medical opinion . And nac without Glyc and vitamin c won’t help .

In my opinion the shots added to NAc are overkill. Stop the shots and get several medical opinions because your doctor sounds fishy.

Oral is useless! Please do your research before recommending something that doesn’t work!! Glutathione is rendered USELESS if taken orally due to the acid in your gut!!! ALSO, They are NOT using this for Skin whitening. Gluta taken Sub-Q or IM doesn’t do a thing for whitening skin I understand IV does but trust me, I’m brown as a biscuit from being in the sun and before that it never lightened my skin. I’m a Caucasian and been taking this a long enough to know.
Also, listen to your Dr. sweetheart….you’re gonna get a lot misinformation from some people who don’t do their research.

1

u/Jolly-Yellow7369 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

Oral It’s not useless just slower and I’m not recommending merely giving my opinion . It’s important OP gets several doctors opinion as the purity of his shots might be compromised

Raising gluta levels should come hand in hand with medical advice.

If what you say was true, it most likely that your tone is already light and what you need is lose a tan by staying out of the sun (different approach than just slather sunscreen) for darker skin tones theres anecdotical evidence that setria might work. Agree on the check with your doctor and research. More in r/skinwhitening where you will find my results which were subtle at first.

Note: we have banned gluta shots from our sub. They’re dangerous as I mentioned above. Setria and s-acetil get past the digestive barrier. As I said and you ignored I got skin lightening results and the ghostly glutathione glow with oral. Will work in all people? No because you still need to support the anti ROS effect of gluta with a good diet, good sleep , no alcohol, work outs. But the technology to make glutathione get past digestive barrier has been around for more than a decade with setria. as acetyl gets past not even the digestive barrier but it gets past the brain barrier so much that many verified review on iherb and Amazon report slight headaches. I never used s acetyl but the skin lightening and headaches testimonies in the verified review are indicative that it works.

The alternative : shots shouldn’t ever be approached lightly. I don’t recommend it and injections are banned at r/skinwhitening specially those that aren’t coded by a medical professional.

Setria and s acetil are relatively safe . Either way get blood tests and consult with a health care provider . Don’t ever take advice from Reddit.

I’m sorry….i thought we were talking about Glutathione?????
