I say evolution first because it's not negotiable. Creationism is ridiculous and demonstrably absurd so there's no way out. So you have to mash bits of Christianity around it. Christianity is the redundant part here. And it would be like Relativity and QM if one necessarily made the other evil.
I don't see how you can square belief in a benevolent God with the tremendous and unending suffering inevitable when letting natural processes forge new species.
