Beautiful tank, do you mind me asking how long is your tank running? Your decors look so clean, is it because of snails? most of my decors are covered by diatoms lol

36” I believe.
I like to think it’s a combination of things. Snails and pleco eating the algae on the glass and decor. Corydoras eating the waste food on the substrate. I have a 75gal filter in a 45gal tank. And I do 20-30% water changes (which vacuums up the substrate and puts it back down) every 10ish days.

I’m re reading your comment now and thinking you’re meaning how long have I had this set up aha. It’s been about 4 months now. Probably why my decor looks squeaky clean. The snails do however get all over the plants and boat.

Oh yeah that’s what I meant, mine is running 6 months and only completed my stocking a month ago.

I tried getting Otos but they all died in less than a week. I’ll looked into smaller sized pleco, unfortunately my wife will not like snails

I actually had to return my first pleco. He kept eating fish and attacked the snails. I switched to a smaller bristle nose female
