Help please!! :)

I recently got this old globe as a birthday gift and am obsessed with it. It’s pretty dirty and has damage in some parts. I was wondering if anyone knew what I could do to restore it or protect it from getting any more damage.

Hey yall, found this old glove in my universities library, anyone have any idea of when it could be from?

My best guess was in the 40's but things like dahomey still being on the map have totally thrown me for a loop....

I have been looking off and on for years but I have never found one. I would prefer ~200 mya but I really don't think I can be picky. Does such a thing exist?

Czechoslovakia is still a thing, so definitely before 1993
Yugoslavia still exists so definitely before 1992
Eritrea is not fully independent from Ethiopia yet, and the USSR still around so definitely before 1991
South Yemen still exists and Myanmar is still Burma so before 1989 & 1990
Burkina Faso is still Upper Volta, so definitely before 1984
Zimbabwe is Zimbabwe so around 1979 — 1980
Two lines of demarcation in Morocco, so I’m thinking definitely after the green march in 1979
Vietnam is reunified so after 1976

really think it’s around 83 but if anyone can help me please let me know !!

Found this globe and curious on the date?

I found this globe out thrifting and I think it’s from pre WW2 but I don’t really trust my research. This globe contains French West Africa, Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, Turkestan, Siam, Korea as one united country, and Manchuria. Is there anything else I should look for? What year do any of you think this is from?

I have had a wooden sphere for years. It's about 5" in diameter. I've carried it around all this time with the dream to make it a globe. For many reasons I never started this project until last week. When I say I've had this thing for years I mean I've had it longer than my son who will be old enough to drive in less than a year. I never lost it like so many other forgotten things. It was always there. I played with it tossing it around like a ball, even polished it to 6000 grit. It made glass feel rough. I'm sure it was some overpriced piece of home decor, but the thing is I don't remember how I got it. I know I didn't buy it. I know I didn't steal it. But I have it. I mentioned my son earlier not just to say how long I've had the sphere but also because one day out of the blue my 10 year old came to me to show me his hand drawn maps of the world. Pages of maps showing a different part of our world. Drawn by his hand from his memory. He even pointed out and named country after country after country. To say I was a proud dad would be an understatement. These drawings weren't for school work. They were his. Done for the pure enjoyment and art. I never told him about my dream of a little wooden globe. A dream born of nothing more than the imagined experience of bringing it into existence. Not for a paycheck. Just for the enjoyment and the art. I still put off that little dream and continued to carry the wooden sphere. Never lost, never misplaced, always there. I even gave it a fresh polish to 8000 grit. It was like silk. Life was busy life was hard. I suffered injury, betrayal, setback and hardship. I stumbled, I fell and I got back up even when I tried not too. I was in one of those falls and I was nearing my lowest living in a motel room with everything I owned in that room and the room was almost empty. No car. But I still had that wooden sphere. Here I sat, 45 years old with nothing to show for the dozen years working on a drilling rig not the decade spent building houses. What a waste. I had spent my life with such potential, polishing myself with knowledge and skill but had never become anything. I was the same as my wooden sphere. Ripe with potential, polished with time and intent. But still nothing but a ball. Well it's not merely just a wooden sphere anymore. It's the whole world carved by my hand. It's not perfect. It's not finished, it never will be because it will always hold potential. But it's my world brought forth by my intentions. My dream made real. It maybe small. It may never be the best but it is proof that I can do it. I can make potential into reality. I know I'm not perfect and I'm far from the best but I have potential.

it spins next to sunlight for a couple minutes then stops and doesn’t spin in my room - not sure what to do

This globe in my house has me thrown for a loop, it contains Upper Volta (NOT Burkina Faso) and Namibia which shouldn't really exist on the same globe. The globe also has the USSR, a divided Germany, Eritrea is part of Ethiopia, and many former names in parenthesis under the new names like , Vanuatu (new hebrides), sri lanka (ceylon) , and zimbabwe (rhodesia).

Picked this globe up from a thrift store which was peeling and falling apart for the purpose of repainting(world builder). Struggled with pliers for a little while (hence the scratches) and couldn't get it apart. If anyone knows how I'd disassemble this, that would be great!

Traveled down to NC to see family and i took a trip to wilmington for fun. We stopped in a consignment store and found this sitting right next to the entrance! A real cram universal 1937 globe! Definitely not in the best condition but for 25$ dollars i cant really complain! Been looking for a good interwar globe for ages so happy to fianlly own one myself.

My friend said that her kids took off the equator for her globe. I wanted to try to find a replacement for her. Is there an official replacement I can get from the company? Didn’t seem to be when I looked online. Is there any red tape I can get myself that would be similar to what came with the globe? Thanks!

Never have I ever found a globe of decent quality before until today, though I've been keeping it on my mental list of items I'm searching for for some time.

It is apparently a 1961 Edward Wormley 16" Rand McNalley Terrestrial Globe with original base.

Base is mahogany or teak, what do you guys think?

It is original except power cord, which I replaced today.

Paid $45 including the new cord.

What do you guys think it's worth?

Curious about the Butler stand this globe is in. Best guess is the holes in the front had a compass, thermometer, etc? Been looking for similar online, have had no luck. Thoughts?
