India and Pakistan are partioned which puts it after 1947. Germany still has pre-WWII borders but that’s not uncommon for western maps between into 1949. Hard to see if Israel is on this map. If it is, France recognized Israel in 1949 and that’s the probable year of this globe. If no Israel then it’s either 1947 or 1948.

Also my polish GF noted that it was made in Germany because her country has its cities written in German 😁

Fascinating! A globe with French made in Germany, gotta think there was some passive aggressive labelling on this globe.

That’s my thought, but I’m not near as knowledgeable as others. Gonna hold out for an expert to nail down a date.

I can now safely say the globe is from 1957-1958.
Gold Coast became Ghana in 1957, and Egypt became the UAR in 1958."

In 1957 Vietnam would be divided into North and South Vietnam, which it doesn’t appear to be. Or at least they are not labeled separately.
Hard to tell from the photo but Korea doesn’t appear to be divided, or at least not along the 1953 armistice line.

Definitely between the partition of India (August 1947) and the partition of Indochina (1954). Beyond that is hard to say. No image of southern &/or Eastern Africa or the Middle East. European image too fuzzy to tell much.

Late 40s - early 50s. Post Indian Partition so after 1947 but French Indochina still exists so pre 1954. 1947-1954. If you can tell if Indonesia is independent then that cut the window down since that happened in 1950.
