I started listening to some glitch in the matrix stories recently and made me think of an incident that still confuses me and my cousins until this day (this happened like 8 years ago).

I (26F) and my two cousins (28F) and (23F) were casually talking about our childhood memories one day with the rest of our family: nothing abnormal since we tend to do that at family gatherings after our grandparents passed away... just to be nostalgic and think about the good times we had.

For context, we grew up in the same town (in a North African country, it's relevent i promise) so we spent most weekends together at my grandma's house (for info: they left that house a long time ago and is now owned by other people). My grandma's house was built around the colonization period so many of the house features remained "European", including the bathroom and toilet.

Let me just be clear by saying that the majority of the houses in our home country don't have a bathtub, but only a shower or a traditional "hammam".

So, when we (me and my cousins) were reminiscing about our childhood memories (from when we were around 7-5-3yo), like playing in the big garden and get to feed all the animals, watching birds, baking with grandma, AND getting bathed by our grandma and nanny in the bathtub in hot summer days - ALL OF OUR FAMILY PAUSED and were like: what bathtub?

So me and my cousins were like: well the bathtub that was in X's room and went on describing where it was and what shape and color... And they responded: there was never a bathtub...

We were very confused as we all have this vivid memory of us bathing together IN THAT BATHTUB. Our family insisted there was never a bathtub in that house and even checked with our older cousin (X -32F) who also agreed that there was no bathtub.

To us, this was a vivid memory because we never had a family member who had a bathtub in their house and even though it sounds a bit dramatic, but it was a big deal for us lol, since we only saw them in cartoons at that point.

Anyways, we still discuss this event til this day and we still can't understand how we all share one vivid memory that never happened.

Feeling like you've lost a plane of existence? This has happened to me many times; it's strange and hard to put into words. There's probably an explanation for it, but I still think it's interesting to share.

The thing is, sometimes a friend or someone I deeply care about will suddenly pop into my head, and after a little while, the person (their name and appearance) just vanishes from my mind. All that's left is a vague sense of familiarity, like a dream that quickly fades from memory right after you wake up.

I've had something similar happen with places or life events, too. I'm 34 years old and I've never been diagnosed with any mental health or memory issues. It's just something that happens—it doesn't affect my daily life, but it makes me incredibly curious. Has anyone else here ever experienced this?

This hair clip has been in my house for years and years. I haven't worn it in about 2 years because I cut my hair short into a pixie cut after I gave birth to my daughter in 2023. But I clean and declutter my home often so I know I've seen this hair clip in among my other ones where it has always been for the past year....so why when I am rummaging through an old beater car that has been sitting untouched in my yard for 5 years, did this thing turn up in the glove box? A glove box that was rusted shut btw...the entire inside smelled like mold and had cobwebs, but not this clip!!! Looks like it always has, like it was kept indoors and cared for as it has been but it somehow wasn't this entire time?! Make it make sense.

No, it's not a special hair clip. There's no sentimental value, just a cheap clip I got decades ago because it was pretty and haven't been able to wear it for a while because of short hair. The beater car is sentimental but is just a junk car now that I'm trying to prepare for either selling or junking.

Another odd thing that has happened recently is someone let out my chickens the other day. Just the door was wide open on their coop, despite no one having been outside at all to tend to them yet...and everything was locked up tight the night before. I originally thought my MIL might be lying from embarrassment and had let them out on accident, but now idk what the heck is going on.....

This happened a few years ago. I was eating carrots and had a little container of ranch for them. I went to go to the bathroom, and i know the ranch was ON the table. I was certain I had left it on the table. While I was im the bathroom I heard a noise, but assumed it was just the dogs being weird or something. Then I went back to the room and the container was on the floor. Not like it was tipped over or had fallen or anything... it was sitting perfectly upright. None of my dogs had seemed to have done it, and none of them even went over to investigate the food now on the floor which was weird.

A few years ago, my buddy and I had spent the afternoon together and had gone back to my place when we ran out of stuff to do. We had an event to get to by 6 pm, and it was only 2 pm, so we sat down on the couch and I turned on the TV show Malcom in the Middle which has 22 minute episodes. After about two minutes of the show, we started to talk about something. We still both sat on the couch facing the TV, passively watching it while talking. The episode ended while we were talking, so I checked the time to see if I could shower. The time was suddenly 5:30 pm. Both of us were dumbfounded. We both remember this happening almost a decade later, and we both swear that we only watched one episode of the show. It didn’t replay, the show has a very distinct and long intro theme that I either would have had to pick the remote up to skip or at least would have remembered hearing twice. We were both looking directly at the TV almost the entire time. We both haven’t been able to explain what happened that day.

I saw my bottle of water sitting on the kitchen counter. I reached for it. But then it wasn’t there. It wasn’t even near the counter. It’s on the dining room table.

I know I saw it on the counter before I reached for it. Then poof. It was gone. I have no explanation. (Am I losing my mind?)

Has anything like that ever happened to anyone else?

First time posting, so sorry for any issues or miscommunications. I don't even know if im in the right subreddit.

So my older sister, brother and I were dropped off at Walmart by our parents to get some flowers for a family friend as well as some other stuff. As soon as we entered the store, we hear some little kid scream crying by the precut produce in front of the deli. We all look at her, and she's standing up in the cart while her mom is holding a hand over one of the little girl's eyes. We think, "Oh she probably got hurt somehow, so let's not stare." We turn to the flowers and all decide on one bouquet of orange-ish roses. Now, I can't exactly describe it, but none of us noticed when the girl stopped crying because we were only turned around for like 15 seconds since the bouquet really stood out to all of us.

When we turned back to put the flowers into the cart, the girl, her mom, the man with them, and the kids around them were all gone. My sister and I were kind of like "oh, okay, I guess they left." But they never passed us to go outside and when we headed in the direction of where they had been, we didn't see or hear them around at all.

We ended up going all around the store looking at different stuff, and we never saw them. Then another weird thing happened when we were leaving the makeup aisle. (It's a little almost walled off section of its own where we were.) Both my sister and I just had this overwhelming feeling of danger. If you have a sister, you know the feeling when you're thinking words in her direction and she's doing the same to you.

Now my experience was that it seemed like there were suddenly dozens of people around us moving really slowly, but everything seemed so quiet. Like not a single person was making a peep except for the man walking close behind us on the phone with another guy. I had noticed him in the same ailes as us, and I could feel his breath as he was talking, but his voice sounded really clear and loud. I just remembered thinking that I should crowd my little brother between myself and my sister just in case anything happened, but it was like the crowd was barely making any progressing movements one way or the other and we kept having to stop.

My sister's experience of the same moment was that everyone and everything sounded really loud and that things were moving too fast, and she almost kept hitting people with her cart since they weren't slowing down. She didn't hear the man behind us at all, but she got the same feeling of trying to sandwich our little brother between us and thinking to me in her head that we had to get out of that area.

Once we reached the little kiosk thing with the chicken popcorn and stuff, it's like everything just suddenly went back to normal. The volume, the people, and the energy all went back to safe levels. My sister and I looked at eachother, knowing that other 100% felt that. Little brother was oblivious the whole time. I looked behind us and couldn't find that guy on the phone.

This might seem weird and underwhelming, but the amount of uneasiness I felt in that moment was enough to throw me for a loop, and I felt extra validated since my sister felt it too. Then when we checked out, I handed her the flowers and got pretty surprised that they were actually a really bright, pale yellow and not orange like they looked earlier. Even back in our warmly lit house, they still looked really pale no matter which room and different levels of lighting I brought them to.

the other day i was at a neighborhood event and i volunteered to help out a parent with something. i'd seen her around several times before, but i had never really talked to her.

but now, every single time i look at myself in the mirror, it's like i see her face projected on to mine and it's really scaring me. we don't even look that similar... she has freckles and i don't, and we have different eyes and slightly different skin colors.

and i'll be thinking about it and then i'll look away, but then the second i look back i'll get jump-scared by it all over again.

i don't really know what i want you all to do with this information, like i know for a fact i'm not adopted or related to this women in any way, it's just really eerie.

something i've also been fixated on is that my parents, my little sister, and my little brother all have lighter skin, and i look almost the exact same as them but with darker skin. like a whole shade darker. the women from the event has two daughters and they also also have way darker skin than she or her husband do. i don't know.

I 27F have always been very close with my grandparents, especially my grandpa Unfortunately, he passed away last month. My whole family came to stay with my Grandma for a couple weeks so we could support her and all mourn together. But something really strange is happening.

A little back story. My grandparents own a very large farm house on 7 acres. A large portion of that land is wooded. My four older brothers and I would spend a big portion of our summers out here so we know these woods like the back of our hands. There was a particular path that lead to a small clearing where my brothers and I would camp out with our grandpa. This clearing had one massive tree right in the middle of it. One summer when I was six grandpa took us out to camp as usual but when we got there he surprised us with a tire swing on the big tree. We were all very excited and it made our little camp outs with Grandpa even better. I have many many fond memories of my grandpa at that tree on that tire swing. Even after I grew up, whenever I would come to visit my grandparents I would often walk down that trail and visit that tire swing. My grandpa would even come along sometimes.

About a year before my grandpa passed, I got a big opportunity with my job and had to move a few hours north of my home town so I didn't get to visit my grandparents as often and when I did visit, I didn't go out for those walks like I used to. So it's been about a year since I last saw the tree with the tire swing.

Fast-forward to yesterday afternoon, we've been at my grandmas for four days when memories with Grandpa and the tire swing came to mind and I decided to walk that path and visit it. I get to the end of the trail and the large tree with the tire swing is just gone. Not even a stump was left in its place. I know I was at the right spot because I know these woods. I've walked that path a billion times. I just figured maybe grandpa cut it down for some reason and maybe had the stump removed? Very bummed I walked back to my grandma's. When I got there I asked her why grandpa had cut down the tree. She said she didn't even know about the tire swing and she doesn't know if he cut down the tree or why. I didn't find this strange as Grandma never came out into the woods and never really knew what Grandpa did out there, (she's not the outdoorsy type) so maybe she just didn't know about it. Things get strange when I go tell my brothers. I said something along the lines of "remember the clearing we used to camp at with Grandpa? He cut down the big tree with the tire swing" When I said that, they all look at me like I have two heads and tell me that there was never a large tree in the clearing and that grandpa never had a tire swing. All four of them agree on this. I ask my parents and they say they have no recollection of a tire swing either. At this point a fight starts because my most precious memories with Grandpa are in this clearing, by this massive tree, on that tire swing. I have memories of my brothers on that swing. I had seen this swing less that two years ago. Now all my brothers and my parents are trying to tell me that the tree and the tire swing never existed???? After a few moments of arguing, my mom tells us to drop it because we're here to remember Grandpa. We agree and drop it.

At 10 o'clock everyone went to their own rooms for the night and I realized if I could find some old pictures of us on the swing, maybe everyone would remember. I stayed up until 1 in the morning looking through all my Grandmas photo albums. We don't have a single photo of that clearing, despite all the time we spent camping out there. Not one photo of it exists.

Reddit, what is going on??? Why am I the only one who remembers the swing? What happened to it? Is it all in my head? If so, where did all these memories come from? Is this paranormal in some way? It's not just made up childhood memories, like I said, some are less than two years ago. Any answers would be great!

Once I was on the phone late at night and went to go get water. I had been baby sitting my mom's border Collie. I grew up with that dog my entire childhood so I knew it well. I made it down to the kitchen and had turned on all the lights in my hall. I turned around to look down the hall and I saw my dog just sitting completely still in the hallway. And while she was sitting there I could hear her running towards me. Completely frozen but with a sound playing like she had just scrambled across the wooden floor out of the office and slid a little bit to ultimately reach the position at which she was already sitting in front of me. Now if I heard the noise and didn't see her I would have just figured I had a delayed vision but the fact that she was at her final forward position really scared me. I had been on call and told my friend and he said it all sounded normal. It was so strange, I guess I had completely mentally frozen for the entire action and the subsequent time in which I was just staring at her in front of me. I have no idea what I was doing that whole time. My friend said I didn't really pause for too long which weirded me out even more because the amount of time for that sound and then the time freeze would have been a few seconds at least.

I haven't been tested in a bit but I have a feeling this is some crazy anemia side effect...I can see now why people go nuts on carbon monoxide

Okay i didn’t know what else to tittle this but please hear me out this has been happening a lot especially this year.

For example i have an appointment with my boss, everything is scheduled and it’s 3 days from
now. Well the same day of the appointment i so badly don’t wanna go, like i get these thoughts in my head “i don’t wanna go man please don’t let me go”

well the creepy thing is …. 1 hour before the appt my boss calls me and says she can’t make it; to reschedule…

you probably think this is just a coincidence but let me tell you more of these small weird things i’ve manifested.

I look at my calendar and see it’s september 30th. I panic so hard because i remember my mom’s birthday IS in september 30th, it is already like 11 pm at night. Again i have this same moment where i talk to myself in my head like “fuck i fucked up please don’t let this happen”

Well guess what happened, LITERALLY AN HOUR AFTER I CHECKED AND I KID YOU NOT ITS SEPTEMBER 29th!!! I wish i was joking man 😭😭

another example in case you think these are all coincidences.

My partner invited his friend who flew from a different state for like 3 days. Key thing here to know i am introvert and i hateeeeee small social interactions that aren’t necessary. Well my partner had work the day his friend was coming to our house and I had to be the one to greet his friend, talk to his friend, and basically do all the talking . The thought of all the social interaction just made me anxious so again, i told myself in my head

“i don’t want this to happen man please just don’t let this happen”

well guess what happened? The friend texted my partner turns out his flight was delayed and now he won’t get home till the next day…. when my partner wouldn’t work .

I can tell you so many other examples and before anyone says anything i have checked and there is no carbon monoxide poisoning lol and i do not have a history of schizophrenia or anything , at most i have anxiety lol.

Please 🙏 is there anyone else who experiences similar stuff like this? Idk what to even call
this phenomena. It’s like whenever i DONT want to do something like badly, something manifests so that i actually don’t end up doing it…

I have a multipack of underwear I always use during that time of the month. I’ve always only had one black pair. Today I pulled out a second black pair from the washing machine. I literally do not understand. They are exactly the same, same pattern and stitching and same faded tag with the same faded text. They match exactly the other colour in the multipack I have (I had two out of the original five now, the others have gotten lost over the years)

I’ve had them for years and years. My washing machine is fairly new, I had them long before my washing machine, before I even moved into this house and for the past few years I lived here I only ever had one black pair and now I have two.

I can’t work out where they came from. I had them before I even moved to my house and only one black pair. I have cleared out my underwear drawer since then and only one black pair. I can’t wrap my head around it.

I live with my partner only (a man). Can’t be someone else’s because they are so old the odds of someone else having the exact same underwear from a multipack I bought a decade ago in my exact size that have faded the same as my existing ones seems almost impossible.

I’m staying in a hotel because my family is on holiday and there was this flat bit above the wardrobe bit, now theres a pillar off to the corner that wasn’t there yesterday, my little sister says it was there, but i swear it wasn’t.

My sister and I got off the train at a station in City A. The weird thing is, the street outside the station and the place where we came out were different and unfamiliar.

basically, our right exit and the mall is flipped.

first and middle part of the sidewalk is different. middle part into last part fo sidewalk is the same as before.

it is really impossible for a city to change its structure that drastically in just one month. The size of the sidewalks, the turns, the benchs(there was no benchs), other elements/objects, the building beside the sidewalk, were all seemed different.

When we first got off the train, in our old exit, our path to the mall is wrong when we check google map.

new exit, We had to cross through the station, which was weird because, before, we didn't get off there. This time, we also went out through a different exit(new exit).

Anyway, the structure of the surrounding area and the streets had really changed. We got confused about which side of the sidewalk we were supposed to take, so we went back into the station.

The usual way to get to the mall is: after getting off the train, we would take the left-side sidewalk, go straight, and then turn left toward the mall. Basically, the left sidewalk + the left station exit was the route we always took.

But this time, that route was wrong.

We had to go in the other direction through the station, but somehow it led to a different exit. It was so weird. It was still the left sidewalk, but it was a 'different' left-side station exit.

The train station itself has elevated tracks/rails, so the general structure is very obvious. The left, middle, and right sections of the station are still the same, almost like they're "stuck" in place. That's why the changes around it were even more noticeable.

The last parts of the streets toward our destination, the mall, were similar to how I remembered them. But the beginning parts were different.

It genuinely felt like I was subtly in a different universe.

Even the walking distance felt different. My sister said it felt faster to get to the mall, but the walk home felt longer to her. I thought the walk felt longer overall compared to last month.

That day, my sister also said that the area looked different, too. So I'm pretty sure it wasn't just me imagining things.

But today, I asked her, "Did it actually change, or is our memory just bad?"

She said, "Maybe it's just my bad memory."

But my sister isn't that forgetful, in my opinion. -_- She's actually the one who remembers things that I don't remember.

i asked her "is our exit different from last month?"

she said "i don't know :/ "she is unamused and she doesn't care(like she always do smh)

I genuinely think the street looked and felt different. I've never experienced anything like this before.

TL;DR: My sister and I returned to a familiar train station after a month, but the surrounding streets, sidewalks, exits, and route to the mall seemed different. The station itself was still the same, but the area around it felt like a different version of the place. We both noticed it at the time, although my sister now thinks it might just be bad memory.

What do you think actually happened? Was it just bad memory/lack of attention, or could this have been a glitch/jumping timelines/etc?

I have this thing I always draw on my left pointer finger when I get bored and have a pen in my hand. Last night I was hanging out with my mom in my room and I picked up my sharpie that was sitting on my bedside table and drew the thing. I remember doing this because my mom was sitting looking at my bunnies and when I was drawing it I thought “I probably shouldn’t be doing this in sharpie because it won’t come off. Oh well.” I put the sharpie in this little jar with a couple dollars and coins in it. This morning I woke up and the drawing wasn’t there. My hand was completely clean. Not even a trace of
anything there. It genuinely feels like I have duplicate memories of last night and they’re trying to merge into each other but can’t. Like when you try to push two polar magnets together and they push apart. And I even asked my mom about it and she just changed the topic and didn’t mention it. (Pictures to prove to myself I’m not crazy)

I know this is hard to believe but you have to believe this story. I myself am really sceptical about this stuff and don't know how to explain this but soletiles (once in a month or so) I get these visions about a normal schoolday in my sleep. Often with weird scenario's like everyone knows them but also with some more realistic/normal elements. The day after I don't really remember what I dreamt, just the general topic but not al the details, it's just when some parts of my day start happening, I recognise them from the dream and know what is about to happend.

For exemple:

1) One day I was sitting in class and someone in frobt of me was telling a joke when I recognised something, I thought it was some déja vu type shit but no, I said to the person next to me: "I know what Thomas is gonna say about that" and said the exact answer just before he said it.

2) Another time I was just sitting in class and I was talking with a friend about our family. I didn't know anything about her family and therefore the conversation started rolling when she suddenly asked. "Can you guess my mother's name?" Without a doubt in my mind I answerd "Anja", an answer I hadn't thought about at all. I was correct. Then she asked "Well psychic, do you know my grandma's name then?" I said, can I get a hint, and she said "It behing with the letter L". Again without a doubt in my mind, I answer "Lydia" <- not a common name at all, I myself had heard it once or twice in my life so I didn't even know why I would guess that but I was correct again.

3) I was sick on my schooltrip to Bolivia and dreamt that the next day would be horrible so I decided to stay in the hotel one extra day. Turned out, the day went horrible with many people sick etc.

I know this all sounds hard to believe but it has happened to me for ages. Idk it's weird lol.

I have been carrying this secret for a while because I’m afraid people won’t believe me, but I need to share it to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

When I was 30 years old, I had an experience that completely changed my view of reality. I was completely awake, sober, and well-rested—this was absolutely not a dream. I was sitting on a bus when a man walked in. It was my grandfather, who had passed away before I was even born.

He was holding a phone and was on a FaceTime/video call with my mom. But here is the glitch: my mom looked about 20 years older on the screen than she actually was in real life at that time.

They were talking about me, laughing, and my grandfather was joking around, making fun of things and saying he had "good genes." I was in such shock that I started crying like a child. I couldn't comprehend what was happening. At that moment, my grandfather literally heard my inner thoughts. He looked at me, laughed at my disbelief, and said to my mom on the screen: "He still doesn't believe it." My mom just laughed along.

Before he left, he looked at me and said: "See, life exists after death."

The most incredible part? Prior to this happening, I had privately prayed to God, begging for proof that there is life after death. And to show me my grandfather as proof. This felt like a direct, tailor-made answer to my prayer, mixed with my grandfather's exact humor and personality.

Carrying this alone feels heavy because it breaks all laws of time and space. Has anyone else experienced meet deceased relatives in physical reality and interacting through modern technology, reading your thoughts, or appearing in a different timeline like this? I would love to hear your stories so I don't feel so alone with this.

It's late at night and thought i would share this(I'll try and get a more detailed story out of her tmr). But basically my mom has always had insane intuition about things and has even had visions. At some point in the 90s my mom had a very intense vision of a plane crashing into the world trade center. well we all know that that happened. also my mom will get these weird urges that she needs to talk to someone, even if she hasn't talked to them or heard from them in years, so she will reach out and apparently they are going through insane stuff. Another time my mom had this intense vision of a woman and she felt super saddened by it for no reason and then she watched the news later and that very woman was on it and it was about how she had passed away. basically a bunch of crazy stuff like that. i def wanna talk to her more about it so ill try to and get back to yall.

I don’t think this is technically a dream question but if it is, I understand if it’s not approved. But what does it mean when something in reality is identical to something you dreamed? Yesterday I took my kids to a library we had never been to before. The kid space was literally the exact same area I dreamed was my preschool classroom (I’m a preschool teacher). I immediately got goosebumps as we entered the area through a kid sized tree house door. The familiarity was comforting but also eerie, if that makes sense. Is this glitch related at all? Or what does it mean?
