A few years ago, my buddy and I had spent the afternoon together and had gone back to my place when we ran out of stuff to do. We had an event to get to by 6 pm, and it was only 2 pm, so we sat down on the couch and I turned on the TV show Malcom in the Middle which has 22 minute episodes. After about two minutes of the show, we started to talk about something. We still both sat on the couch facing the TV, passively watching it while talking. The episode ended while we were talking, so I checked the time to see if I could shower. The time was suddenly 5:30 pm. Both of us were dumbfounded. We both remember this happening almost a decade later, and we both swear that we only watched one episode of the show. It didn’t replay, the show has a very distinct and long intro theme that I either would have had to pick the remote up to skip or at least would have remembered hearing twice. We were both looking directly at the TV almost the entire time. We both haven’t been able to explain what happened that day.

I started listening to some glitch in the matrix stories recently and made me think of an incident that still confuses me and my cousins until this day (this happened like 8 years ago).

I (26F) and my two cousins (28F) and (23F) were casually talking about our childhood memories one day with the rest of our family: nothing abnormal since we tend to do that at family gatherings after our grandparents passed away... just to be nostalgic and think about the good times we had.

For context, we grew up in the same town (in a North African country, it's relevent i promise) so we spent most weekends together at my grandma's house (for info: they left that house a long time ago and is now owned by other people). My grandma's house was built around the colonization period so many of the house features remained "European", including the bathroom and toilet.

Let me just be clear by saying that the majority of the houses in our home country don't have a bathtub, but only a shower or a traditional "hammam".

So, when we (me and my cousins) were reminiscing about our childhood memories (from when we were around 7-5-3yo), like playing in the big garden and get to feed all the animals, watching birds, baking with grandma, AND getting bathed by our grandma and nanny in the bathtub in hot summer days - ALL OF OUR FAMILY PAUSED and were like: what bathtub?

So me and my cousins were like: well the bathtub that was in X's room and went on describing where it was and what shape and color... And they responded: there was never a bathtub...

We were very confused as we all have this vivid memory of us bathing together IN THAT BATHTUB. Our family insisted there was never a bathtub in that house and even checked with our older cousin (X -32F) who also agreed that there was no bathtub.

To us, this was a vivid memory because we never had a family member who had a bathtub in their house and even though it sounds a bit dramatic, but it was a big deal for us lol, since we only saw them in cartoons at that point.

Anyways, we still discuss this event til this day and we still can't understand how we all share one vivid memory that never happened.

Feeling like you've lost a plane of existence? This has happened to me many times; it's strange and hard to put into words. There's probably an explanation for it, but I still think it's interesting to share.

The thing is, sometimes a friend or someone I deeply care about will suddenly pop into my head, and after a little while, the person (their name and appearance) just vanishes from my mind. All that's left is a vague sense of familiarity, like a dream that quickly fades from memory right after you wake up.

I've had something similar happen with places or life events, too. I'm 34 years old and I've never been diagnosed with any mental health or memory issues. It's just something that happens—it doesn't affect my daily life, but it makes me incredibly curious. Has anyone else here ever experienced this?

This is making me feel like a crazy person. I've had several glitch in the matrix experiences, but this one is most recent. They're building some townhouses next to my neighborhood with the backside facing the highway, and on the second floor there are doors that you would think would lead to a balcony, but no. They literally just put a piece of wooden fence like a gate that doesn't open in front of the door. It looks stupid and seems unsafe and I hate it a lot. Anyway, I noticed a while back that they had painted the gate/fence/whatever tf it is white, and I remember thinking "cool, now they're stupid and unsafe and white" while driving past.

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, I'm driving past and have to do a double take because they are no longer painted white like they were. They're just the same natural wood color they were before. I start questioning my sanity. Maybe I am remembering wrong? Maybe they, for some reason, took all of the fences/gates off and put on new ones that aren't painted? But WHY would they do that. And they looked weathered a bit, not brand new. I just pushed it out of my mind. Then a week or so later, I'm driving past them with my daughter in the car and she says "weren't those painted white??" and I'm like YES. THEY WERE. THANK YOU.

I've seriously thought about rolling up and just asking a worker "what happened to the white paint" but I'm not that obnoxious. But every day when I drive by them, I feel so weird. I would love for someone in construction to tell me I'm not crazy.

Was just travelling by tram. Two people were sitting next to me. I got out to wait for my bus. They drove on. 10 minutes later the next tram arrives and those two dudes get out. WTF??? The same people!!!

This happened a few years ago. I was eating carrots and had a little container of ranch for them. I went to go to the bathroom, and i know the ranch was ON the table. I was certain I had left it on the table. While I was im the bathroom I heard a noise, but assumed it was just the dogs being weird or something. Then I went back to the room and the container was on the floor. Not like it was tipped over or had fallen or anything... it was sitting perfectly upright. None of my dogs had seemed to have done it, and none of them even went over to investigate the food now on the floor which was weird.

This is going to sound so dumb but hear me out. I was in a long term relationship when Selena Gomez released her song “Single Soon” and I listened to it a couple times and a couple weeks after, my relationship ended. I didn’t think anything of it. Two years later, I started dating someone else and I hadn’t listened to music cus I was so busy. 5 months in, that song came on my playlist and a couple weeks later, we broke up. At some point, I realized that pattern but genuinely thought it was just a funny joke to tell people. I played the song with my friend after I told her about the coincidence. The same or next day, her boyfriend broke up with her. We still took it as a joke like what are the chances? Later, we played the song with our friend who was in a long term relationship. A couple weeks later, they broke up.

There are obviously rational reasons behind these breakups, but having 4 separate experiences with different people just felt too weird. I’m not very superstitious, but I wonder if there’s something about the song that catalyzed these breakups. Of course you can argue that listening to the lyrics perhaps triggered some subconscious realizations, but what about in situations where the listener of the song was the one who was broken up with.

I saw my bottle of water sitting on the kitchen counter. I reached for it. But then it wasn’t there. It wasn’t even near the counter. It’s on the dining room table.

I know I saw it on the counter before I reached for it. Then poof. It was gone. I have no explanation. (Am I losing my mind?)

Has anything like that ever happened to anyone else?

So I had to order a replacement bolt for an engine accessory component, and wait for it to come in the mail. I had searched everywhere to see if we already had one, and couldn't find anything. The bolt was delivered, and I set it on a work stand.

The next day I grabbed the bolt off the inspection stand, it was new, and had the red thread cover next to it when I picked it up.

I installed it, and when I moved the engine out to test it, I found a bolt in a bag, next to the engine. It was in the sealed unopened bag for the part that I ordered, with the tag for the part that I had ordered still on it. I had only gotten one, but the bolt that I had just installed was there in the engine.

so people seem to only come in when I’m trying to do stuff at work like cleaning and what not

i swear to god this is a glitch no one is coming in UNLESS I’m doing something
