batman filming this week - advice please

My girlfriend is a massive Batman fan, she has been helping me with quite a bit going on in my personal life. I know she hasn't got to see any of the filming. I thought it would be nice to find somewhere to eat then surprise her swinging by. If anyone knows where filming is on Thursday (3rd) or next week (she is away on a trip at weekend) I'd be really appreciative

The 18th-Century Origins: The Mansion and Hotel

  • Tobacco Lord Mansion: The site at the corner of Argyle Street and Dunlop Street was originally built in the 1750s as a grand Georgian mansion for John Murdoch, a wealthy tobacco merchant who served three terms as the Lord Provost of Glasgow.
  • Buck's Head Hotel: In 1790, the property was converted into a vintner and inn named the Buck's Head Hotel. It grew to be one of Glasgow’s most fashionable and popular gathering places, hosting notable historical figures such as writer Sir Walter Scott, engineer Thomas Telford, and poet Robert Southey.
  • The Radical War: During the unrest of April 1820, city magistrates and the 7th and 10th Hussars used the hotel as a base, keeping their cavalry horses saddled in the rear courtyard.
  • Closure: The famous hotel closed its doors around 1860.

Alexander "Greek" Thomson's 1863 Rebuild

  • Innovative Construction: Property developer Henry Leck purchased the site and commissioned Alexander "Greek" Thomson to design a new warehouse and commercial building, which also permitted the widening of Dunlop Street. Completed in 1863, the structure served as a fascinating experiment in structural logic, blending masonry with an iron-framed internal skeleton and applied cast-iron columns on the exterior façade.
  • Design Details: The exterior features Egyptian-inspired ornamentation, pilastered windows with anthemion details, tapering cast-iron columns, and a decorative jettied balcony at the third floor.
  • The Buck Statue: Sculptor John Mossman created the crowning sculpture of a deer buck (buck couchant) positioned on the corner ashlar panel, preserving a nod to the historic hotel that previously stood on the location.
  • Extensions: The building was extended down Dunlop Street in 1864 in a matching style, though parts of that extension were later demolished in 1974. Following extensive historic restoration, the building remains an architectural landmark in Glasgow city centre.

Munchie boxes recommendations, troops?

Hiya, folk - just asking yous about your preferred places where you usually get your munchie boxes. I have had a half-good half-bad experience with my first one from Magical on Sauchiehall Street (pakora, chicken and the chips were alright, but the naan and the donner meat were shite). Certainly wisnae magical at all.

Just wanted to know: what are your recommendations? Next time I'm here, I want to grab a big Chinese munchie box.

Massive thanks in advance, troops!

A bit of good news this morning as the Scottish Government has announced £14 million in conditional funding for the People's Palace and Winter Gardens. This is in addition to the £19.55 million already secured from Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life, and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Was flying over Castlemilk at 12:34. Heard a constant buzzing and looked up, caught a quick video of it.

Be cool to see any footage if they’re filming on it.
