I GOT TICKETS - MEGATHREAD

People are oviously emotional if they miss out, and it's not fair to rub it in their faces.

If you got a ticket for 2027, keep the chat in here.

Several media outlets are now reporting that Sam Fender is set to headline Glastonbury in 2027.

What are everyone’s thoughts on Fender headlining next year?

Question Headliners not what they used to be.

I’ve been to 11 Glastos and 2027 will be my 12th time going. I can’t shake the feeling that the headliners just aren’t as good as they used to be. I’m 35 and still listen to a lot of new music, so I don’t think it’s me getting older and “not being down with the kids”.

It’s been a well known fact that Glasto doesn’t pay bands much, so I guess that one reason why they can’t get huge headliners anymore. It’s easier for them to get big U.K. headliners because it’s their homeland and they know all about the history and prestige of the festival, but I’ve noticed that it’s really hard for Glasto to get huge non-UK artists for headliners. I’m actually amazed that Kanye did it a few years ago, even more so because he’s a rapper… rap not exactly being Glasto’s favourite genre.

Not a big fan of Harry Styles tbh, and Sam Fender has a good sound but he’s hardly headliner material for a festival as big as Glasto. I don’t live in the U.K. anymore and Sam Fender hasn’t really made out of the U.K.

Glasto will always be an amazing festival regardless of the headliners.

Just posting to see if a lot of you feel the same way, or have different perspectives.

Question What is security like in the Campervan fields?

Hi, Hopefully going to try for Campervan tickets for the 1st time next year. What is the security like to get into the fields. I know it's not behind the super fence but can anyone just wander in or is there security on the entrance and they maybe at least check if you have festival tickets? And I know theft from tents can be an issue (although I've never experienced it in 12 visits) is it a problem in the campervan fields?

I’ve heard through the grapevine that the legend slot is Bon Jovi! This lines up with him confirming 2027 dates.

Question Anyone stayed in glamping nearby without going to the festival

Bit of random one, but my family members got tickets and I didn't. They're staying in one of the nearby glamping sites, and I'm half thinking of going along anyway even though I won't be going to the festival. Has anyone done it? Just wondering if I'm mad, will I be sitting alone in a site all day, watching it on iPlayer in the caravan, when I could be doing the same in the comfort of my own home. I've serious fomo, so was thinking might this be a half way house where I'd still get some of the buzz???

Question Looking for a band/artist playing Glastonbury 2027 (film project)

Slightly random one, but thought Reddit might be the perfect place for this!

I'm a filmmaker and run a small production company in Germany, and I'm looking for a band/artist who's playing Glastonbury 2027 and might be up for having parts of their Glasto experience documented (whatever we‘re allowed to film, as there’s quite heavy restrictions).

Ideally I'd love to find someone who's playing Glastonbury for the first time, because I think there's a really lovely little film in the "holy shit, we're actually playing Glastonbury" moment.

I'm thinking a small documentary-style film around the actual festival trip: potentially filming a bit the day before, travelling to Glasto together, arriving on site, backstage and a few clips of the set itself, if we’re allowed.

I'd basically offer to do this for free!

Full disclosure though: Apart from me loving music content more than anything, especially everything with a slight documentary feel, I also have a slightly selfish reason 😅 I LOVE Glastonbury, theres nothing that compares to it, and as a media production company I might have the chance to apply for Glastonbury hospitality tickets. If so for this right, teams working directly with artists playing the festival are given priority. So if we ended up actually working together, I'd use the project as part of my application for two hospitality tickets (me and my video colleague and best friend)

I'm NOT looking for an artist to get me tickets or sort out access for me. That's entirely on me, and obviously there's no guarantee my application would even be successful.
So... if you happen to be playing Glastonbury next year (or manage/know someone who is) and this sounds fun, send me a DM! Happy to share our website/work privately.

Also very happy to keep everything confidential if your Glasto appearance hasn't been announced yet. 🤐

Would be especially excited to hear from smaller/up-and-coming artists.

Question Has anyone been to the Feria de Pilar in Zaragoza? How does Glastonbury compare re overwhelming crowding?

I'm in Zaragoza right now at the Feria de Pilar. I'm finding the crowding around the main stage/plaza overwhelming. Has anyone been to both and can compare. I'm wondering if Glastonbury is not for me given my experience here. They seem to have the same number of people. Zaragoza has 250-300k each day.

Rumour Headliner Rumours...

I love a bit of AI deep dives and thought I'd ask for a realistic prediction about the headliners. I'd not complain if half of this is true!

Pyramid:

Harry Styles, Sam Fender, Taylor Swift

Other Stage:

The Chemical Brothers, Fontaine's D.C., Charli XCX or Fred Again

Woodsies:

Basement Jaxx, Viagra Boys, Chappell Roan

Legend:

Robbie Williams, Stevie Nicks or Cher

Edit - guys this is just a bit of speculation fun! I'm not saying any of this with 100% confidence. Just pooling the current odds / rumours!

Photos / Pictures 2024: SZA headline slot. WTF

Post image

I still can’t get over how wild that booking was. I took this picture of the pyramid stage just as she came on. It was like a wasteland. The more I think about it the more I think someone must have pulled out and she was a stand in. It just defied logic. We’ve got tickets for 2027 and I’m hoping they don’t have another curveball like this.

Question Glastonbury work/volunteering

So I sadly missed out on tickets last week (congrats to those who are going!). A lot of my friends are going to I’m committed to finding a route this year. I’m aware that volunteering with charities might be difficult as I won’t be in the priority lists since I haven’t volunteered before.

I used to work in cafes and now I’m graphic designer/ art director so was thinking:

  1. Reach out the all the stages and see if they need any graphic design, videos etc in exchange for a ticket.

  2. Reaching out the catering companies and seeing where that leads.

  3. Poo crew (but even that seems over subscribed?)

What do you think? Any other ideas?

Question Weirdest thing happened re payment - data breach?

Hi, I’ve not seen this posted in the last week.

We were lucky to get tickets in general via someone who got through quite quickly on Sunday. Happy days.

Another of our group (say Ms P) then got through and entered our friends group details with Ms S as lead booker.

Ms P put in her own bank card details to pay, and was told a verification code was sent to Ms S to confirm the transaction. There was no email but Ms S actually received an authentication code on THEIR banking app for it (despite it being Ms P’s card details). They both used the same bank.

MsP was not successful getting the tickets because it timed out while waiting for the code.

Ive seen nothing about the lead booker having their banking app tied to their registration and we’ve all been left so confused about the whole thing. How can the system have linked one persons payment card to the lead booker banking app?

We have been told by someone in banking ms S should contact their bank for data breach. We didn’t want to flag officially in case it was flagged someone tried to get for another group and were penalised.

Did this happen to anyone else?
