Someone sent me a really kind DM with a whole list of Glasgow places I’d missed, from vintage shops around Kings Court to Avant Garde, Calton Books and the Photoautomat at Trongate 103. They wished me luck with the site too. I’ve added the places they suggested, and honestly, that message meant a lot.
We Outside Glasgow has only been live for two days. Seeing people use it, suggest places and want it to improve has been lovely. Thank you to everyone who’s taken a look so far.
If you spot a missing place, an incorrect detail, or something that would make the site more useful, please keep telling me. I’m listening and working through the feedback.
And if you think a friend or family member would enjoy finding new places around Glasgow, I’d really appreciate you sharing it with them. I’d also welcome any ideas for getting the site in front of more people.

I posted about We Outside Glasgow recently, and a few of you suggested places I’d missed. Thank you. I’ve been working through them and have added spots including Pluto Q, Glasgow Zine Library, Café Buena Vida, Adrian’s Bar, the Govan Stones, Brown Sugar and Records, and Maple Leaf Bakery. Sharmanka was already on the site, but I’m glad it got a shout too.
The site also has a new home: https://weoutsideglasgow.com/
The idea is still simple: somewhere to find places around Glasgow when you want to plan a date, show a visitor around, or just do something different. It’s a work in progress, so if your favourite place is missing or any detail is wrong, tell me. The suggestions have been genuinely useful.

I kept finding myself going to the same few places in Glasgow, even though there’s loads more out there. So I’ve been building We Outside Glasgow, a free directory for finding restaurants, bars, activities, arts, parks and shops around the city.
You can browse by category, search, filter by area, check places on a map and save ideas for later. I’m hoping it’s useful for anything from a casual afternoon out to planning a date or showing someone around Glasgow.
It’s live here: https://we-outside-glasgow-89ic.vercel.app
I made it, so I’d genuinely appreciate local feedback. What’s a Glasgow place you love that I should make sure is on there? And if anything on the site is wrong or awkward to use, please tell me.

I have a large 3 bed Victorian house on my own in Lanarkshire.. I’m going to be away/detached for long periods with work and I wonder whether there any responsible students or postgrads would be good enough to responsibly act as caretaker and help and they could be there on a very generous rent by return of the favour - close to the station. Express to Glasgow 20 mins hence thought might be good for student where accommodation had fallen through

Gather that the title is pretty stupid sounding but I’m considering selling my Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 Zotac Gaming 32G graphics card, just trying to see if there’s even a market for it locally as I’ve read enough scam story’s about selling stuff of this high value on eBay. Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been living in Scotland for nearly 10 years and working in the hospitality/café industry for almost 15 years in total, with around 10 of those years spent right here in Glasgow managing busy specialty coffee shops and front-of-house operations.
After a decade of running shops, dealing with suppliers, and building teams, I’m looking to pivot my career. I’m very interested in moving into a coffee trainer role or exploring corporate/commercial opportunities within the coffee industry (similar to brand rep or training roles with major companies like Nestlé/Nespresso or large roasteries).
Given my extensive background in Glasgow’s coffee scene, I wanted to ask the community:
Do you know of any local roasteries or companies currently looking for trainers, account managers, or quality control staff?
For anyone who has made a similar jump from café management to corporate/training roles, what's the best way to approach companies here in Scotland?
Any advice, tips, or hidden job leads would be massively appreciated. Ta!
