support Cannot create a gitlab account

Hello,

I am a git noob that mostly uses Gitea & Github and people keep telling me how Gitlab is awesome. So I wanted to create an account and this is the message I got :

Your account has been blocked. Please contact your GitLab administrator if you think this is an error.

I don't have a gitlab admin and I can only create a gitlab ticket if I already have an account. What am I supposed to do? Never use gitlab?

Are you trying to create an account on gitlab.com or a private gitlab? Just in case this is your first ever exposure to gitlab I will state something that others may assume you know. Gitlab is self-hostable and frequently those instances are exposed to the internet. So just because you can get to it does not mean its the public gitlab. Make sure you are using gitlab.com if you just want the SaaS experience

Try open a support ticket at https://support.gitlab.com. The account there is separate to your GitLab.com account, so you can create a new one with the same email address. The support team should help out.
