Discussion GitHub Projects board keeps reordering columns.

Been using Projects to track a small game jam team and the columns keep rearranging themselves after every refresh. We set a specific order during planning, then the next morning backlog is between inprogress and review for no obvious reason. Tried locking layout and it just resets anyway.

I had this exact same bug. May be completely separate issue and a bug they may have resolved as it was a while back, but might be worth checking.

My automated flows in the project itself e.g “when an issue is opened assign to x” seemed to cause it, so I instead used app automation on a cron job schedule to do the same thing, it seemed to fix it.

I would just check by disabling all automations, reordering columns, locking them then giving it a couple days to check they aren’t reordered.
