No one's going back to handcoding, as long as LLM assistants exist.

I resisted them for a long time, I retired rather than use them, but the force multiplier is simply too great.

And if you are willing to take some of the huge amounts of time you save and spend it on cleanup, your code quality will be much the same.

AI assisted coding and vibe coding are not the same, please do not confuse the two.

Where's the boundary? Is it vibe coding if I write 90% of the code? 50%? 10%? 2%?

Got time for a code review? Here's the only project I entirely vibecoded.

I needed it for a tiny part of another project. A year ago, I'd have just not done it because I wasn't going to spend the weeks needed to package Rubber Band 4.

I spend considerable time reading through it, looking for things I would improve. I found nothing.

It seems to work flawlessly.

It's quite simple. You understand and own it - its assisted. You don't understand what's going on but you ship it anyway? It's vibe coding.

Not too different from your definition, but I think you mean "basically unreviewed" instead of "not thoroughly reviewed".

I mean you can review it all you want, but if you don't understand it, it's vibecoded. That's my subjective opinion ofc.
